This story is slightly AU. Jess and Rory aren't dating, and in case you can't tell, Christmas is drawing closer. This is my first attempt of a song fic type thing, so please take that into consideration when reviewing. The song is by Blink 182 and I believe it's called 'I Won't be Home for Christmas' And just for the record, this is not my views on Christmas.

"Do I have any phone calls?" Jess asked as he entered the diner.
"I'm sorry but I do have other things to do then be your secretary. In case you didn't notice, I do run a diner." Luke responded as he finished pouring coffee into a man's mug.
"Is that a no?"
Luke grabbed a pad of paper and put it on the counter, "Rory called. She left a message, something about a book. There's more details here."
Jess nodded and grabbed the paper. Rory was saying he could borrow a book if he still wanted to, "I guess I better go call her back." Jess ran up the stairs to the apartment above the diner.
Once in the apartment Jess sighed an sat down on the couch. Normally he would have bene happy to get a call from Rory, even if it was just about a book. That wasn't the call he wanted, though.
"Who cares about this stupid holiday?" Jess muttered as he turned on the radio. There were only a few stations that this stupid town actually had, and most of them weren't very good at all.
"Let's see what else I can listen to." Jess stood up and headed towards his pile of CD's. He dug through, trying to find a CD that would help to improve his mood. He found one CD that stood out from the rest. It had been a gift from a teacher one year. The case was green with a red ribbon drawn across the front, in gold font the words 'Holiday Music' appeared on the case.
Jess stared at the CD for a few minutes before anger welled up inside of him. He threw the CD against the wall with all his strength. The case splintered into a three pieces and fell to the floor.
"Damn, now I'll have to clean that up." Jess complained. He walked towards the mess but stopped to look outside of the window. Who on earth would want to celebrate at this time of the year. There was wet, cold, miserable snow sitting outside. Stores were crowded with people doing shopping.
"What idiots. Who in their right mind would wait until three days before Christmas to start shopping." Jess returned to the task of picking up the damaged CD. It was a bit scratched but could probably still work.
'It's Christmas time again.'
Jess sighed, "Please, don't remind me" He had forgotten that the radio was still on.
'It's time to be nice to the people you can't stand all year, I'm growing tired of all this Christmas cheer.'
Jess chuckled. Those guys sure had something right.
'You people scare me. Just stay away from my home. And if you don't want to get me down, just leave the presents and then leave me alone.'
Jess finished repairing the case with a little tape and put it back into the pile, hiding it behind a Korn and a System of a Down CD. He dropped onto the couch heavily and wiped away the single tear that was forming. Who cares about this stupid holiday anyway? It doesn't matter who you're with, it's still just a waste of time. Who cares if his mother would rather be by herself then spend time with her only son.
"I probably wouldn't have wanted to go back home anyway." Jess said as another tear began to slide down his cheek, followed by a second.
'I won't be home, I won't be home for Christmas. I won't be home, I won't be home for Christmas.'
