Alison Behr sat in her seat, snoring lightly. Nearby, her best friend
Eloise flipped through a glossy Muggle magazine. "Ali, wake up!" Eloise
whispered. Alison jumped. "The Sorting is about to begin, we'll have to
go downstairs. A whole bunch of exchange students are coming in so we'll
get a chance to meet them." Ali fixed her cat-eye shaped glasses and
smoothed her boring, straight hair, the color of potatoes.
"Fun, fun." she said in a monotonous voice. Eloise groaned. "Just.come on!" grabbing Ali she headed out of the Ravenclaw common room.
Ali tripped and fell on her way; she was quite clumsy while Eloise glided along gracefully. Ali and Eloise were two best friends, very different yet very alike. Eloise was African-American with shoulder-length black hair, brown skin, and brown eyes. She was a dancer, and was of average build, not tall and not short; not skinny and not fat either. Meanwhile, Alison was Caucasian with boring, straight hair (the color of potatoes); very dark eyes and was quite pale with a bunch of freckles. They shared a love of Muggle magazines, biting sarcasm, and a house (Ravenclaw).
Entering the Great Hall, Ali and Eloise walked in slowly, sitting at their table without a sound. "Usually the Sorting has begun by now.or at least the kids are out," whispered Ali in Elise's ear. Eloise nodded. "I know," she whispered back. Eloise tapped Cho on the shoulder.
Cho rolled her eyes. "Two girls have all ready been sorted," she whispered. "But they had to clear the entire male population off of the floor and Madame Pomfrey had to revive them." The girls nodded and settled into their seats as the Sorting Hat broke into a heartbreaking opera introducing the next girl, Christianne Olovram Riddle. Christianne stepped into the spotlight, her short, tight-fitting robes enhancing her curves. She was simply gorgeous, waves of raven-colored hair cascading to her waist; clear silver eyes; and an extremely deep tan. She had a charming American accent; everyone began to clap as soon as she began to speak, for it was so beautiful. "Gryffindor," the hat sang with passion. Harry fainted as Christianne took a seat next to him.
It was quiet except for the sound of shovels scraping boys' bodies off the floor. "Lamia Lodovie Dormt." rapped the Sorting Hat. A tall, slender girl with slim legs, an extremely large chest, white-blonde curls, and violet eyes twirled in. She wore crushed velvet robes in a deep crimson. She blushed and pulled out her wand. Pointing it at the wall, letters slowly began to appear. They spelled, 'Lamia Lodovie Dormt." Waving her wand around, the letters rearranged until they spelled, 'I am Lord Voldemortia". Everyone gasped. Dumbledore stood, "I usually let everyone into my school but you must go. Advada Kedavra!" Lamia crumpled to the ground as Harry and Ron rushed towards her and kissed her, arguing over whom got to keep the lock of hair that had fallen on the ground.
Riding on a magnificent baby unicorn, a petite girl with shimmering red curls and bottle-green, no wait, azure-blue, no wait, violet-purple, no wait rose-red eyes gallantly rode in. "Galina Gryffindor," she shouted. "Gryffindor!" the hat called without it even touching her head. Galina bowed deeply and began to perform brilliant acrobatics upon her unicorn, Athena. Everyone clapped enthusiastically.
"Oh brother." whispered Eloise.
