Let me show you what I'm made of
Good intentions are not enough
To get me through today and this life
Vaughn stood on top of a building waiting for Sydney to meet him he was trying to ignore the spinning in his head and concentrating on the cars as they fought there way through the pavement. The warm sun beat down on him in his navy blue suit and he was wondering why he decided to wear it today. After what seemed like an eternity he heard the heavy door to the roof open and the sound of high heels clicking on the roof. He smiled to himself but he didn't turn around he just listened to the clicking noise as it came closer to him, pounding in his ears. When the noise finally stopped Vaughn didn't move a muscle but he knew Sydney was right beside him, she looked out over the city just like he was. Finally she turned to face Vaughn and thought 'what are his eyes saying behind those sunglasses?' and was compelled remove her own. Vaughn noticed she was watching him so he gave her a small smile and turned his body so his back was leaning against the ledge of the roof, but he never removed his sunglasses. "In 10 hours Sloane wants me to travel to Kyoto and steal a disk that Sark says will be helpful in taking down my mother's organization." Sydney finally revealed. Vaughn nodded and said "well either we will want a copy of the disk or the real disk and give SD6 a fake." Then there was that silence again, the one that gets under your skin and makes you want to jump up and scream. That was all that they had left after Sydney found out about Alice and Vaughn went to talk to Sydney's mother. Vaughn wanted to tell Sydney how he felt but he just couldn't. It was easier telling Sydney's mother than Sydney herself. "Is that all?" She asked breaking the silence, Vaughn just nodded and watched and listened as Sydney walked away.
It was the same call and the same voice and the same question "Joey's Pizza?" That was the only reason Sydney was fighting rush hour traffic to make it to the warehouse to find out her counter mission hoping that eventually she could help take SD6 and the Alliance down and she Sydney Bristow could live a normal life hell, even a semi-normal life would please Sydney more than anybody knew, even Vaughn. But Sydney didn't have time to wish, she only had time to be a double agent, and stuck in traffic. She almost wanted to be late and make Vaughn wait after the way he acted this morning he should wait not saying hello or goodbye, that wasn't usual, it wasn't Vaughn but she had a mission to leave for in 4 hours and she needed the counter, plain as that. She turned left into the warehouse parking lot and carefully got out of her SUV checking that nobody was watching her. She pulled down her jean jacket and walked casually into the warehouse. Inside she noted to herself that Vaughn was not wearing sunglasses this time she heard Vaughn say hello but this time she said nothing. "Your counter mission is to make two separate copies of the disk and give one to me and one to SD6." Vaughn told her. Sydney smiled, "sounds easy enough, is that all?" Vaughn just looked at her and smiled "one more thing good luck." He looked her straight in the eye when he said it Sydney just turned around and walked away.
