A/N:  I've had this idea for quite a while, and now it's finally being written.  It's definitely an A/U fic, but isn't always where fanfiction is concerned?  This actually has three different genres – angst, drama, and romance.  If anyone would so kindly explain what drama really means, please do so.  It would help me determine where my stories really fit into.  Oh yeah, I do not own DBZ.

Prequel

            It has been known for quite some time now that a tyrant by the name of Frieza is the most powerful and heartless creature in the entire universe.  The knowledge was obtained when inhabitants of many other portentous races were completely eliminated by him – with merely the movement of one finger.  Whole planets were destroyed in horrendous explosions – the residents' loving homes gone forever – while the monster watched on in amusement and entertainment, chuckling at the rampant firework display.

            There are two kinds of beings in the universe: those who oppose Frieza, and those who don't.  However, there is a third category: those oblivious to the "aliens" and battles of the outer worlds.

            Only a race called the saiyans knew of this third category, and will do anything in their power to protect them, for they are mortal enemies of Frieza.

            And it is the saiyan race whom the tyrant loathed most.

A/N: Short, short prequel, won't you say?  But hey, I want this to be organized.  Anywayz…I don't think it'll be fair to ask for reviews, since this is like…nothing, as of yet.  But of course, they're always very nice.
