The blaster rang out as it raced Obi-Wan. As it slowly came forward Obi-Wan eyes lit up in shock for the blaster didn't hit him but the person who stepped in front of it. As this person fell Obi-Wan realized who it was, it was non-other then his friend Bant. She hit the ground and Obi-Wan ran towards her and kneeled next to her. He could see blood coming out of the wound and he knew she would never make it but hoped she was strong enough to hold on.

"Obi-Wan………..Obi-Wan…………" Bant started to say.

Obi-Wan grabbed her hand, " Bant don't talk just hang on. Just hang on."

Bant squeezed his hand; "Obi-Wan I'm dying…"

Obi-Wan interrupted her, "Bant you're not going to die I won't let you. Do you hear me I won't let you die."

Bant said forcefully squeezing Obi-Wan's hand, "Listen to me Obi-Wan, Listen to me."

"No", Obi-Wan said.

"Obi-Wan listen, I'm going to a better place. I…." Bant stopped mid-sentence from the pain but kept talking, "Obi-Wan promise something."

"Anything," Obi-Wan said

"Promise me that where ever I'm going that I won't see you there until you're a wrinkly old man." Bant said fighting through the pain.

" I promise, Bant." Obi-Wan said trying to hold back the tears forming in his eyes.

"Obi-Wan can you do something else for me?" Bant said.

"Anything", Obi-Wan replied.

"Obi-Wan ever since I first met you I have loved you. But I knew I could never be with you because we were Jedi and I respected that. But I have never had my first kiss and I always wanted it done by you." Bant said moving even closer to death.

As Bant finished her sentence Obi-Wan leaned over and kissed her. As they kissed Bant squeezed Obi-Wan's hand one more time and slowly lost the grip on his.

"Bant? No…No……………you can't, I'm not ready to let you leave. Bant…." Obi-Wan slowly watched as Bant's body disappeared. "No", Obi-Wan cried.

As Obi-Wan sat he heard the medics outside and Obi-Wan slowly got up. Obi-Wan walked out of the room and came to where the medics and his master were waiting.

"Obi-Wan are you ok. Where's Bant? Obi-Wan…..Obi-Wan?" Qui-Gon asked.

Obi-Wan just walked past him and didn't say a word as he walked outside. Qui-Gon followed him outside to find out what happened. As Qui-Gon stepped outside he saw Obi-Wan stop at the side of the cliff and looked out at the water. As Obi-Wan looked out he fell to his knees and began to weep. Qui-Gon went to him and kneeled next to him. Qui-Gon put his arms around Obi-Wan and Obi-Wan laid his head on Qui-Gon's shoulder.

As Obi-Wan cried on Qui-Gon knew what had happened and didn't have to ask.

"Obi-Wan it's ok, everything will be ok." Qui-Gon said trying to confer his padawn. "Obi-Wan let's get back to the ship and will go back to the temple."

Obi-Wan slowly got up and Qui-Gon followed him. The soon reached the temple and were on their way home.
