Relena's Demise

-Begin Story-
Relena Peacecraft choked from the smoke emanating from the remains of her castle in the Sanc Kingdom. Pain shot through her leg, which had be shattered by falling debris. She picked small shards of glass from her face. Using what little strength she had left, the ruler of the Kingdom dragged herself to her desk, which was miraculously untouched by the carnage.
Once seated, Relena opened a laptop. She had hoped that the wireless system was still intact, for she was going to try to contact the remaining Gundam pilots. Chang Wufei, her bodyguard and lover, had perished in the first moments of the attack when a wall had fallen on him. She had to try to contact Heero Yuy, for certainly he and the other pilots could defeat her attackers with their Gundams.
Relena's hopes lifted as a connection was made. She was surprised that the connection to Heero was going to the computer inside of Wing Zero. Perhaps he had already found out about the attack and was leading the other pilots to save her.
"Heero Yuy here." A grim looking pilot appeared on her screen.
"Oh Heero, the Kingdom has been attacked. I don't think we can last much longer. Wufei is already dead, and Zechs' and Noin's suits are damaged beyond repair" Relena reported.
H: "I know, we're about to arrive. Stay where you are. I'm sorry about Wufei."
R: "He died bravely."
H: "Has anyone been able to identify the attacker?"
R: "That's the strange thing. I have no reports at all of anyone seeing anything. Zechs and Noin both have reported missiles and rockets appearing out of nowhere. There have been energy blasts that haven't been able to be traced."
H: "What's left of White Fang must have developed a cloaking device. Do you know where Zechs and Noin are?"
R: "They're in the cliff side bunker. We have 2 suits that need only minor work to be ready. They should be ready for defense in about 15 minutes."
An emergency window popped up on Relena's screen. A terrified Noin appeared.
N: "Relena, the bunker is under attack. The blast doors have buckled and...aaaraugh!"
A bright flash in the emergency window and the rumble from huge explosions told the defeated ruler all she needed to know.
R: "My God, Heero. My brother and sister-in-law are both dead. We're defenseless except for the Gundams."
H: "Good."
R: "Hn?! What do you mean good?"
The vantage point in Heero's communication window switched to what Wing Zero was seeing. Relena gasped as she saw a small figure sitting at a desk. Zero's blast rifle tip was no more than 2 feet away from the figure.
Relena didn't even have time to utter her last thought: "Why?"
Later that evening
The Gundam pilots sat intently watching the video report on their day's activity.
"The world is stunned today at the death of Relena Peacecraft. The leader of the Sanc Kingdom died when her castle was destroyed by a series of mysterious explosions. Investigators at the scene report no indications of foul play. Once again, the world grieves at the...."
Heero clicked the mute on the video screen and smiled. Duo Maxwell walked up and wrapped his arms around Heero while planting a passionate kiss to his koi's mouth. Quatre and Trowa were snuggled on the sofa and beginning to undress.
After finishing his kiss with Duo, Heero smirked and said "That's the last time the bitch forgets to invite us to her birthday party!"
The other pilots all broke down laughing before continuing their evening of celebration.
