Chapter 2

Mercy meets Harry Potter

As Mercy and her best friend from New York, Nicole (who had also gotten the letter) rode up to the castle in chariots with invisible horses, Nicole said ,

"So anyway Mercy, are you gonna hold out on me forever or are you gonna tell me who that hot guy you came off the train with was!?!?!?"

Mercy blushed. "Nicki, it was no one, I promise."

"No way girl, that guy was someone, and your gonna tell me who!!!!"

"Shhh, quiet" whispered Mercy as they made there way into the entrance hall. Mercy and Nicole walked gracefully up to Professor Mcgonagall.

"Excuse me, Professor, we just transferred here from Lacordaire Academy for the Magical Talented and we need to be sorted."

"But girls" said Professor Mcgonagall "you should be in your 5th year at least."

"We know Professor" Nicole piped up "but we just transferred!!!!"

"Well, alright, stand with the first years then"

The magical hat had already sorted Rachel Sailor- Gryffindor, Jenny Gerber- Hufflepuff, Henry Serrins- Ravenclaw, and Missy Pirk- Ravenclaw.

"Nicole Freedmen" shouted Professor Mcgonagall. As soon as the hat was placed on Nicole's head the inanimate object rang out

"Slytherin!!!!!!!" Nicole stood up and strode over to the loudly applauding table.

"Mercy Vegarcio" shouted Mcgonagall. When the hat was firmly on her head Mercy could hear it talking to itself.

"She could be amazing in Slytherin, just like Harry, yes, just like Harry. But Harry simply refused to be in Slytherin. She has the brains for Gyrffindor, definitly the brains, and the courage. Well then, I guess it shout be... Gryffindor!!!!!!!!"

Mercy's mind jolted. She was not going to be with Nicole!?!?! As Mercy walked towards her new house table she looked longingly at Nicole, who was looking longingly at Draco, who was looking longingly at her!!!!!!! Mercy quickly looked away and sat down next to a boy with dark hair, glasses and a lightning shaped scar on his forehead.

"Hello, I'm Harry" said the boy, "Harry Potter."

Mercy gaped at him, first is gentle-beautiful face, then up, to the scar on his forehead.
