Debate's Song
Isabel Night
Brian:
That's it. Dais has stepped over the line. He has taken my little sisters, and he's not going to get away with it. He'll pay for kidnapping Melissa, Melody, and Jazalyn. When we get to Talpa's castle, I'm going to personally run him through with his own scythes.
I know that he is Melissa's partner, but he had no right to kidnap her. Besides, he can't protect her from Talpa.
I know what you're thinking: I'm 22-years-old, single, and childless, but these girls are the only "family" that I'll ever have. I'm very protective of them; I guess you could say that I'm the "big brother" or "father figure" of the group. Dais did not help us come together; therefore, he had no right to take Melissa or the other girls away.
I've heard his side of the story, Melissa is his partner, and he says he has every right to see her. The self-serving bastard, has he even stopped and looked at his "track record" with those who are enemies of the Dynasty. He has Murdered, Raped, and Tortured all of his victims. He has caused so much pain and suffering that it's enough to make me sick. Would you want someone like that around your little sisters?
Dais:
Looking into the mind of that hypocrite Brian almost makes me want to laugh. How can he claim to be a "father figure" when he is only a child? He hasn't lived for 400 years, so how can he say that he is ready to be a "father figure"?
The boy is young and naive. He doesn't even have a family of his own, so how can he say that I will make a poor guardian? He knows nothing of family, especially what it's like to be a father figure to two younger sisters. He doesn't know how to take care of a family, especially when your bastard father disappears and never comes back. I look at Melissa, who is still sleeping on my bed, and I would never even think about leaving her. Talpa doesn't need to know that she's my partner, or that the Partnership exists. If he did, Melissa would be used to blackmail me or be used as a pawn to hurt those she cares about. No one is going to use my partner as a pawn, not even Lord Talpa.
Then Brian accuses me of having what the mortals call a "bad track record". This boy is more hypocritical and judgmental than I thought. He is not perfect, he too has made bad choices in his life. So when did he become my judge?
The boy has not lived in darkness for 400 years, so why does he think he can deny me the light? He is naive to think that he can defy the opposites of the universe. Darkness needs the light, good needs evil, and male needs female. Without those opposites, people cannot exist.
Melissa will be safe in the Dynasty. Talpa will never discover that she is my partner, and if Cale doesn't want to get gutted, he'll keep his mouth shut.
I can protect Melissa here. Her arrogant "big brother" can't do anything now. It's time that the boy becomes a man. It's time that he let Melissa go to her rightful partner. And it's time for that hypocrite to realize that if he can have his partner, then I should be able to have mine as well.
