I was a small, barely the size of most. I suppose that's why I was never more then a worker. In fact, during the long cold nights, they grew so tired of our cries, they silenced a full two hundred of us. I bear a cold gray scar across my neck for it. But back to my tale... The first memory after cold metal, was warmth. Not the kind the summer sun gives you when you first step outside. No, the kind you have when your mother embraces you, when you know, even though the world is cruel, you'll be all right. I opened my large red eyes, and found myself starring into beautiful brown eyes. Then watching lips pass into a smile, and a voice telling me to sleep. I remember, for the first time, feeling safe...

Days, months...I have no idea. They passed in my rest. I woke up in a beautifully decorated room. Though compared to cold steel I suppose anything is. I heard that soft-spoken voice again and looked. Even if I had my voice, words would be useless to describe it. She was a human, the people who had come to adopt us, calling us NeoPets. She was short I suppose, I could stand at my full height, but only reach her thigh still though. Her hair was short and brown, but her eyes, kind, not like the Space Faerie, whose very eyes shined like the stars she lived by, no, motherly, yet young.

Beside her, sat an Aisha. I had heard about them, their ways of being so prissy, and haughty, their slanted eyes, this one's was red, and her eyes, if she opened them ever, were a brilliant blue. I sat up, looking at my small-deformed chubby fingers, and then over at the people beside me, finding if I looked past I could see a stranger young male human. Green hair, and threatening green eyes.

Our glaring match broke, by the kind woman's voice. Speaking words of family and new homes and love, things one in my place would dream of. Then the small red cat creature spoke, her voice as I would imagine, asking to go play outside. She was dismissed, I returned my eyes to the woman. She bid me rest, sitting beside me, laying a warm hand on my forehead.
