Light poured in through the windows and into Mandy's room. Mandy
opened her eyes and blinked. Rolling over, she slipped out of bed, crossed
the room, and opened her dresser. She picked out a pink tank top and shorts
and pulled them on. Picking up a brush, she brushed her hair and scraped
her hair into a ponytail. She was about to exit her bedroom when a soft
tapping on the window distracted her. She looked up and almost jumped back
in surprise. A snowy owl was outside!
"Hey.that looks like..HARRY'S OWL!!" she said excitedly. She ran over to the window and pushed it open, Hedwig soared into her bedroom and placed herself on Mandy's wrinkled bed. Mandy untied the letter off of Hedwig's leg and gingerly slid the letter open.
Dear Mandy, How is everything? I'm doing okay over here on Private Drive. But Dudley is throwing a TANTRUM because Uncle Vernon ate his Hershey Bar on accident. Anyway, I just wanted to remind you that school starts on September the first. That's only two days away! I really can't wait. Too bad Dudley gets to keep the computer all to himself. Otherwise I would try to IM you. Anyway, write back as soon as possible. I can't live another day with no one to talk to except Dudley and to the spiders.

Mandy smiled and got out a piece of paper and a pen. She hurriedly scribbled back:
Dear Harry, Everything's alright over here. Just really bored. Wow. Dudley just threw a tantrum over THAT? Haha. I feel really sorry for you, having to live with him. Anyway, I can't wait till Hogwarts either! I got to go. Talk to you at school!

She searched for an envelope and hastily stuffed the letter into it. Then she tied the letter back on to Hedwig's leg, who was still sitting quietly on her bed, and with a hoot she was gone.
