Note:
A twisted follow up to One Push. It's far into the future, far, far, far, and crossover with a two other FF. Kind of. And alternate universe. Fear me! Fear me! Hmm... a quickie... and kind of yaoi... only a mention... if you can work out whose daughter it is before the end, you rock! ^^
Inclusions are German.

Cold Hearts

Snow was falling, covering slowly the earth with blanket. Lucrecia knelt down, and brushed the layer of frozen white from the grave. Now, she could read the inscription, but she did not need to. She knew it by heart.

"I'm sorry for not visiting so long... but there's no time, no time at all. The war is raging... I hate war, this war especially. So many innocent are being killed and even worse. In some sense, I'm glad you never lived to see it. I'm glad you don't see what have become of Crayton and me. We are what you never wanted us to be - soldiers."

Lucrecia sighed. The war was horrible, she had her share of fighting and killing, and yet, even more awaited her. She was Die Hochgestellte Zauberin des Reiches, the captain of the one of the greatest ships of Federation, Gottes Will. She was the General too, and her hands were tainted with the blood of the uncountable victims of war and those, who had fallen under her own sword or magic.

"It's hard, to go on, and fight against the people, who believe what they're doing is right too. I wonder... I wonder sometimes if it's even worth of our time, this war. The elves, they are the strange ones. They don't fight unless they have to. Do you know what they do? They save whomever they ca, children mostly. Maybe they know the right path."

The woman raised from her knees, brushed her hand over the tombstone.

"I hope that we will win, that the Evil Sorceresses will be no more... I hope that I will find Rinoa again, and free her from the curse. I hope I will give my children a better world to grew up in. And lastly... I hope you're both happy together, wherever you are now."

She smiled sadly and turned back to the man waiting for her.

"Are you done, Mein Herrin?"

"Yes. Yes, I am. I think it's time for us to board the ship, isn't it?"

The blonde man nodded, his hair falling into his face, covering the scar on his forehead.

"Yes, love, Mein Herrin. We do not have much time left now if the Gottes Will is supposed to be at the Alexandria for the Crowning Ceremony."

"Then, let us go," Lucrecia stole last glance at the grave, brushing a strand of the silvery hair from the face. It was time to become the General and The Sorceress again. She gave her had to her Knight, and they climbed the slope of the Northern Crater. Behind them, the silence remained.

Words on the tombstone were simple, but love emanated from them.

'Here lay Sephiroth and Cloud Strife, beloved fathers and great friends. They will never be forgotten.'
