First work: Short story. Before the Lights.
The pain I feel, oh the pain. They will be cut down in their prime with no thought. Trampled on, they're very lives of no consequence. My heart is dying. How could he let this be? I was there, I had my part. I was honored with beauty and harmony with my brethren. Through me great things have sprung for his glory. He must not allow this to be. I must beseech him to honor my request. All of creation will beware of the power hidden in the beautiful and dare not waste what is come from my hand. The first born must be taught to tend my creation, but how, how shall I teach what has not yet arrived? I need counsel in my grief. Who can calm my heart when I know my brothers impetuous act will have dire results for my creation. I need to meditate, but my heart is too troubled.
Ah! I feel you, yes my Lord; the music of your voice speaks to me, say your will. [Long moments of meditation followed]. I will ascent the mountain my Lord.
In a rustle as of autumn leaves she set forth. The valley was deep and filled with starlight new born as white dew from the heavens. It was here in the midst of the valley of lights she saw him standing gazing up with arms open wide.
"Kementari where do you venture with such haste?" he said. "Our Lord has summoned me to the King". Kementari replied. "And my heart is troubled for what our brother has done."
"Yes, great in skill is Aule. What this portends for EA I do not fully understand, but know this, as long as this world lasts you name will be honored by the children to follow. Do not needlessly bear this burden, remember the music and the mighty themes that were sung, for you did not always sing alone."
"My children cannot run and hide or stand and fight, who will consider their beauty before they pluck them from the ground or strike an axe to their wood? Who will lament them as they burn in the fire?"
"Many parts are left to play and many songs are still to be sung. Go on you way now to the King and learn his wisdom and take with you such blessing as I can bestow on you, I will be watching and aiding these creations, but the music cannot be altered nor understood fully until it is complete not even by the Queen of fates."
"Thank you Olorin, I will go to hear the Kings judgments. It would ease my heart to know that all my brethren take such thought of my works."
"I say this to you Kementari, Aule and his servants will learn fear and respect for your creations. It will break your heart, but they will break his stones."
