Light at the end


I am stuck here,
I cannot see the light,
I know I am supposed to,
I was told of it before,
But where is the light?

I wonder in the darkness,
I scream out for help,
I want someone here with me,
I wish I were dead,
Am I?

I see a light,
I see a dim light,
I can hardly see it,
I am hopeful, yet afraid,
Is this the way out?

I hear a voice,
I know that person,
I know them well,
I love them so much,
But are they real?

I follow the light,
I listen to the voice,
I feel calmed,
I reach the light,
It's so warm,

I open my eyes,
I look around,
I am afraid again,
I fumble around,
And touch something,

I cry with happiness,
I hear his soothing voice,
I feel safe now,
I reach out and hug him,
My Best friend.
