The God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob sent his son some 25 years before I was born to be a savior, my uncle. He would be the One to save his people, and to save the entire world from sin.

The world I was born into was a world of cruelty and strife. Kings and leaders of countries did not care about anything but money and greed. The greed of the Roman Empire led one man and his family to be the rulers our us. We, the people, were losing our focus on the God of our Fathers.

Now I will tell you of the first memory I have of him.

"No! Not another girl! If God truly loved me, He would have sent a son! I will not except this - this creature!" screamed James as he was pacing back and forth from wall to the other. " This is - is not right!" he yelled as pointed to the bundle in another man's arms. This man was in the corner of the little house that held this family and his eldest brother. The man, sitting in the corner had very dark hair, almost black. He was in the garb that was comon for a man in Galilee. The kind brown eyes looked up from his niece and they focused on his pacing brother.

"Why should it matter if this child is male or female. You already have three sons." stated the man. He focused so on his brother so hard that his brother stopped his frantic pacing.

"It should mater, because male children are better then female children. You should know this, Jesus," declared James as he glared at the sitting figure in the corner of the room.

"Does it not state, in the Scripture, that men and women are equal?" quoted Jesus. He stood up from were he was sitting.

"Does it? I would not know of these things. I am only a carpender's son," said James as he resumed his pacing.

Jesus moved toward the doorway frustration and sadness. He said, without looking back as he was walking through the doorway, "A child is a child."

He promised me, from that day forward, that He would always watch over me.
