On the train to school Draco was silent. Crabbe and Goyle didn't really understand. They did however understand the half a dozen chocolate frogs Draco purchased and then wouldn't eat. During the feast Draco was completely oblivious to the goings on around him. He only ate one potato and didn't even applaud the new Slytherins. Crabbe and Goyle didn't notice. However Pansy did. She was siting opposite. She spent the whole feast trying to coax him into telling her about his holidays. The only reply she got was "pass the gravy" (which he never took).
At the end of the feast Draco went to bed, he didn't even sneer at Harry in the hallway. Crabbe started to think about that being unusual, but he fell asleep before any complete thoughts had formed.
