As usual my father that lazy bum
only held this party so suitors could come
and take my hand in holy matrimony
but these guys are just weak and bony
Oh where is Rue to be my hero
and save me from all these zeros
Then I heard the doors creak
And through them did I see Rue sneak
Swiftly, he bounded up to me
upon which he layed on his knee
and produce before myself and the king
the gift of my love, a wedding ring
The suitors said "What makes you think that she'll say yes?
When all she's given us is more than nothing and less"
"Because I hold her in my heart so dear
and I've known her for many a year
and with that said
I beseech to you your majesty that Mint and I be wed"
"It is not my decision to make
Mint is this the man you wish to take?"
"Yes father he is the one"
"Then rise my boy and make this deal be done"
He stood as told and faced me still
his eyes so full of care it gave me a chill
Then at last did we kiss
I didn't know it would be such bliss
And when it was broken
I felt it was my turn to have spoken
"I couldn't have asked for a better Christmas present this year"
"All in a day's work my dear"
Now remember children what I teach you this Christmas Eve
