A brief Seishirou x Subaru one-shot

It came back to him in brief flashes.
A whispered admonition of love;
A flash of a smirk;
A button being undone;
Seishirou trying to catch his breath.

And now they were here. This was how it was going to end, this was foreordained. Facing each other on this bridge, encased in a kekkai. They were so similar yet so different; two sides of the same coin, Sakurazukamori and the head of the Sumeragi Estate. White on black and red on white.

Now they were fighting, high in the night sky, and yet still in some twisted way lovers. Seishirou drew his hand back for the killing blow, a harsh contrast to his almost gentle words just moments earlier. Subaru readied himself, thinking that at least he would die by the hand of his Seishirou and not some random stranger or one of the other Angels.

But the blow never came. When Subaru's vision cleared it was he himself the killer, his hand clean through Seishirou's agonisingly familiar body. Hokuto...

As he shakily withdrew his hand, Seishirou's blood poured to the floor, an unstoppable stream of crimson. Seishirou clung to his lover and smiled up at him, their matching eyes glinting in the starlight. He smiled as he told Subaru that he hadn't killed him because he knew that Subaru could never kill anyone, that he was "very nice." It was then that Subaru's tears started, crystalline rivers down blood-splattered cheeks. Because he was killing Seishirou, wasn't he? He couldn't see anything that would make him "nice".

Seishirou heaved himself up and for a moment Subaru's heart leapt as he thought Seishirou might kiss him. But Seishirou only slumped forward into Subaru's waiting arms.
"Subaru," the older man said, already in the throes of death. "I really..."

Love you.

Well, that was short. :P And very weird, too. This was just what I thought of when replaying Seishirou's death sequence a few days ago. It's based on the TV series.
