Chapter 2
Along the Water
"What are you talking about Peregrin Took, who is
in the Shire?" Gandalf looked in his direction.
"The black riders!"
"Legolas, take Frodo, Pippin, Sam, and young Nickma
to Rivendell. I will be there in the next day or 2. I will
be getting Aragorn to help me."
"What are you going to do. Gandalf Sir?" Nicka
asked.
"Try and keep the Shire safe, you run along and
keep them out of trouble. I trust you young Elf."
"Sure..."
Gandalf jumped into his carriage and headed toward
the Shire. He saw a ring of fire in the air nearby. How,
who, why he thought to himself. How can something do this
to the Shire. At first he didn't think of it but then he
stumbled across something. Who has the ring?
"Legolas, I have a feeling that Gandalf is going to
need help with his adventure." Nicka said with a worried grin.
"Nicka, don't worry about Gandalf he can deal with his
own adventures."
They walked along the road on their way to Rivendell.
"This isn't fair, Sam" Frodo said.
"I know Sir, but the only thing we can do is wait and
have Gandalf and Aragorn help thats all we can do."
"I know."
As Legolas, Sam, Frodo and Nicka were walking along
the edge of a stream Frodo stumbled across a shiny object in the
water. He walked by it as though he didn't see it but later that
night he couldn't help but walk back ways to the stream to look
for it.
"Sir, what is it that you seek to find?" Young Nicka asked.
"Nicka, what are you doing here?"
"I followed you I saw what it was you are looking for."
"What, I'm not looking for anything."
"Yes, you are! The shiny thing along the water's edge."
"Do...do you know what it is?"
"No, but I have feeling."
"What."
"The ring..."
Gandalf was on his way to see Aragorn who was in the Shire.
As soon as Gandalf entered he saw all of what he did not want. Not only
had the Black Riders hurt the Shire's land but they had killed Hobbits.
This made Gandalf cry but he soon picked up his head when he heard the familiar
voice of Aragorn also known as Strider.
"Gandalf there is nothing you nor I can do."
"Yes, we can rid of these beasts and destroy that ring!"
"Gandalf, we don't know who has that ring. We are not sure
if Bilbo has that ring therefore we know nothing."
"We may not know much but we know one thing,...Bilbo must be in
the Shire."
"How can it be the ring?"
"I don't know." She dug into the water and pulled out what seemed
to look like a ring but had a really bad rusty surface that made the object
unattractive.
"Frodo sir?" Sam came across the dusty path.
"Sam, did you follow me too?" Frodo asked and from the corner of his
eye he saw Nicka slip the ring into her pocket.
"No, I was just worried so I was looking for you."
"Sam you do not have to worry."
"I know but..."
"I understand, Sam."
"How do we know that Bilbo is in the Shire?"
"Because Aragorn!!"
Gandalf's eyes got big and red and Aragorn knew he was about to strike
him but he did not know why.
