Max lowered her head to her knees, her tears long since drowned out by the rain. She hugged her knees to her chest, trying to find something in her world that she could hold onto.

She didn't hear the footsteps as he joined her atop the Space Needle, but she felt the warmth in his body as her wrapped his arms around her and carried her away from her torment.

No matter the circumstance, he was not going to abandon her when she needed someone the most.

Fearful and grateful at the same time, Max curled tighter into his chest as he took her away from that place she had been in.
