Chapter One: Losing Money and Conning Monkeys

"But it was only 100,000 bells!"

"ONE HUNDRED-THOUSAND!?"

Spiffy Dike Glitches (nicknamed the Peace-Breaker, by her "friends"...) ran out of her house with only the clothes on her back, toothbrush, and a backpack. Her father ran after her, waving his fist.

"And don't come back until you can pay me back!!!"

Spiffy turned, shrugged, and ran down her huge drive, out of the manor on which she lived on, and out onto the street. She had her dad's wallet, anyway.

Spiffy trudged down the street, almost to tired to go on. When she finally opened her eyes (she had been walking with her eyes closed) she was in a long, dark alley, with seemingly no end.

She sighed, than slumped down, leaning on the gratified wall, and reflected on what had happened in the last two days. Spiffy and her mother had went shopping that day, and Spiffy (using the credit cards she had pilfered from her father.) had bought a one hundred-thousand bell watch for her birthday present (her father was too money-hungry to buy one for her.)

Needless to say, someone wasn't exactly happy when the bills came in. And that was what had happened.

About now, Spiffy couldn't even remember what she had bought, or why. She was so hungry, and tired, but there was the chance that her father had cancelled the credit cards, and she would be arrested when trying to use them. And sleeping right now was just stupid; who knew what kind of diseases you could get from sleeping in an alley?!

Spiffy suddenly realized that footsteps were surrounding her from every corner. She shivered, and cried out, "Stand back! I'm a master in all forms of interpretive dance!"

The footsteps came closer and Spiffy cowered in fear. "Take anything! Take my one-hundred-thousand bell watch! JUST DON'T SHOOT!!"

And then….a monkey stepped out of the shadows. "Relllaaaxxxx! I'm not going to hurt you!" the monkey cooed, sounding persuasive.

Spiffy stopped whimpering. Y-you're n-n-not?"

"Naw. I'm just here to sell you some stuff."

Spiffy, being rich, pampered, and protected, did not realize that she was in for a world of pain.

"Now, Spiffy, I heard you were out of a job, a home, and low on cash."

"Yeah, pretty muc- wait! How did you know my name?"

"Oh, I know stuff. Plus, I watch the news." The monkey said confidently.

Spiffy, not being the brightest human the world, nodded in agreement.

"Soo…I have tickets for a train to a slight foreign town where you can have a fresh start."

"Hhmmm…is the train first class?"

The monkey pondered for a while, and than replied. "You bet your bottom dollar!"

Spiffy snorted, and mumbled, "That's good, because that's what I'm on. My bottom dollar."

Monkey-guy shrugged, and glanced qt Spiffy's wacth. "Welll…I'll take that watch for payment if ya' want. How much didja say it was worth?"

"A hundred grand."

The monkey snatched the watch off of Spiffy's wrist, and said, "Well, that's it than!"

"You know, you are an abnormally freaky monkey." Spiffy said ,slowly.

The monkey snorted. "Interpretive dance? Now that's freaky."

And he disappeared into the shadows.

That's all for now! More humor in the next chapter. Bon voyage,
