Hermione purposely walked slower behind her two best friends. She knew they wouldn't notice if she suddenly disappeared. The pair was chattering excitedly over some new Quidditch tactic or something and would probably figure that Hermione had gone back to Transfiguration to ask for extra homework. She hoped that she would have a chance to catch her reflection, a new habit she had acquired, but with no such luck. Just as Harry and Ron had turned the corner she was startled as strong arms pulled her back into a side closet. His lips quickly enveloped hers and it wasn't until they moved to the sensitive part of her neck that she spoke out.

"You scared me," she whispered into his ear as his hair fell onto her brow.

"Did I?" Draco responded back, making no apology, yet holding no malice in his voice.

"Mmmhmmm..." was all she could let out as a hand snaked up under her blouse. She was expecting this encounter. It was occurring on a daily occurrence now. But they were brief, as she only had a limited time before her next class. The two had become experts, however, at making the short period worthwhile. Hermione reached up and pushed Draco's robe aside as Draco did the same with hers, kicking the cumbersome barriers away with her feet.

"I was waiting all day for this," he muttered, "all day." His leg brushed hers and his hands roamed across her back. He didn't want her to go. It was torture to have a free period by himself right after their meetings while she had to go to class, and it wasn't as if they could be together when neither had class, as they were both under the watchful eyes of their friends. As he rotated between sucking and gently biting a spot on her neck, he waited for her customary statement.

"I have to go," she said at last, but making no move to leave. "Really, I'll be late." She put her arms on his chest moving him far enough from her that she could look into his eyes. "Please," she whispered, her heart plummeting as she saw the look of disappointment in his eyes.

His head fell back down to her shoulder in order to let out the words that she lived for. "I love you." It was barely more than a whisper and it wasn't the first time she had heard it from his lips, but she knew he meant it. "You too," was the response, as she glanced down at the watch upon her unsteady hand.

"Oh!" In a frenzy Hermione attempted to tuck in her shirt, straighten out her hair. With a kiss on Draco's cheek she grabbed a black robe off the ground and ran out the door.

Draco sighed and leaned up against the closed door, until finally deciding to go back to his dormitory. Something caught his eye, however, as he went to pick up his own robe. The shiny prefect badge was just like his, but right next to it in bright red color lay the Gryffindor symbol.

"Damn!" He cursed to himself as he ran out the door, and down the hallway hoping to catch up to her, but unfortunately it was not to be. Bookworm Hermione Granger had the privilege of showing up to Herbology wearing a Slytherin prefect robe and displaying a large hickey on her neck.
