DISCLAIMER: Although I LOVE Tyler and Jamie, I don't own them. *Sobs until
her eyes pop out * Ok, I'm done.
Sirens wailed as the team rushed to the call. Val, Tyler, Hank, and Jamie listened to the radio for a report. An operator came through and gave them the report, which was fuzzy and hard to hear. "What did it say?" Val shouted over the loud siren. Tyler wrote down a few word on a sheet of yellow paper with a large, black, permanent maker. Val read them and repeated them to herself. "High school, bomb, thirty-nine, more than one, explosions, Hillridge." She caught her breath. A bomb in a high school? They had only recently been dispatched to California and they were receiving the most severe call they ever had. Thoughts zipped back and forth through her blonde head. Hank had trouble after that little boy was hurt, will he be ok now? Jamie just wants to get out of her, will he do a good job? Tyler is too busy flirting with the California girls to pay attention, will he mess up? And I haven't gotten much sleep in the past couple days, will I be able to concentrate? The ambulance came to a screeching halt. Val climbed out of the back with Tyler and saw what had happened at the distraught high school. Almost four classrooms were destroyed, there was debris and wreckage everywhere, and she felt a sinking feeling in her stomach that, under the large slabs of concrete, were innocent high schoolers, who were now in pain. Smoke seemed to be coming from everywhere. Tyler came up from behind her and put one, hefty, quarter- back hand on her slim shoulder. "Do we need to suit up?" she asked, referring to the bulky firemen's suits that they wore when there was smoke. He nodded and was about to speak, but Val ran so he couldn't see the tears in her eyes.
