'Twas the Night:
A YuGi Oh Poem
'Twas the night of the semifinals, and all through the mansion
All the duelists were yawning, and danger they were glad shun.
The decks were prepared and strategies at ready;
Arguments ran rampant, no matter how petty.
The duelists slept soundly all resting in beds,
While visions of victory danced in their heads.
And Pegasus sat smiling, laughing to himself,
With piles of comic books from off of his shelf.
Soon he would go to the tower, and laugh at those
Who- in order to spy- from their beds had arose.
After finishing one comic, he was off in a flash,
Towards his secret room in a tower, he did dash.
The moon lit his way, and soon he was there
Appearing to the trio, seemingly out of thin air.
The three were surprised, when transported they were
To a scary, dark place, but exactly where, they weren't sure.
When to the rescue, the most unlikely of all
Yami B saved their butts, and brain-wiped 'em all.
The morning, it came, and the duels all started,
Monsters were played, and their names were shouted.
Now, Flame Swordsman! On Red Eyes Black dragon!
Joey did cry, while Pegasus drank deeply from his flagon.
I place these face up and blow your defense monster away!
Now attack his cards, attack them I say!
So the monster attacked, with a sword of flame,
But the attack was ineffective, and Joey put to shame.
For all of the monsters, in his opponent's deck
Were machines, which magic attacks could not wreck.
As Joey drew his next card, he feared for his hand.
Perhaps he should give up, hide his head in the sand...
But he had to win, for his sister's- Serenity's sake.
So he trusted the Heart of the Cards to take
Certain matters into it's hand and help him win
So dueling with even more heart, he did begin.
He knew his red eyes was the key to victory
But not without certain help, goes the story.
His mouth formed a smirk, and copycat was played,
Turned his red eyes to metal, and this duel was saved.
His opponent was tough, but Joey pulled through
Against all odds, those monsters he slew.
Keith was annoyed, and how he did rant and yell
But for all anyone cared, he could go straight to.... Well...
The duel was over, and friends clapped and cheered,
But next was a duel that everyone feared.
With tears in their eyes, they knew what was to come
A duel between friends, which would be enjoyed only by some.
They spoke not a word of malice toward each other
And by Tea's friendship rants, everyone, she managed to smother.
Laying their hands on their decks, the readied to duel
Neither would take it easy, both stubborn as a mule.
And the duel began, and the friends washed in sadness,
All would admit that this was simply pure madness.
As the duel began, the host laughs and claps
"Happy dueling, boys. You're a couple of saps!"
