Jonas and a guard in a tank. Jonas turns to the guard and says, "How do you
drive this thing?" :)
THE TANK
Jonas Quinn looked down suddenly at the voice that had called to them from below the gantry, and then back at Teal'c.
Now we've done it, he thought as an alarm klaxon sounded throughout the facility.
The sound of crashing feet alerted him to the presence of other guards, and he turned his head as one landed behind them, having run down some steps adjacent to the walkway they stood upon.
Teal'c ran over to the man, who had drawn a weapon, and grabbed hold of him.
In his preoccupied state, Jonas had failed to notice the appearance of a second guard on the gantry.
At the last minute, he saw the man, and grabbed a hold of him as the guard ran into him.
They flew backwards, and Jonas felt the railing give way, as they tumbled through the air towards the ground below.
But instead of feeling the impact against the concrete, he felt the warmth of one of the tank's water as he landed in it, the guard right behind him.
He plunged under the water, feeling something writhe around his leg. He fought his way to the surface immediately, taking a gulp of air.
The guard resurfaced close to him.
"Teal'c!"
Jonas kicked in the deep tank to keep himself from plunging under again, even as something broke the surface of the rippling water beside him.
His eyes met the ugly snake-like form of a screeching Goa'uld symbiote, as it seemed to stare right back, intrigued at the sudden presence of alien bodies in its environment.
It leapt at him, and, terrified, he kicked in the water desperately in an attempt to move away from it. He turned, and started to swim as fast as he possibly could through the tank's water. His clothes weighed him down, and he feared he would not be able to make the side in time.
He saw figures running to the side of the tank, and recognising one of them, he called our for help, "Teal'c!"
The Jaffa crouched at the water's edge, and held out a large hand to him.
Jonas lunged at the hand, feeling the firm grip of Teal'c as he started to pull him out of the water with baffling strength.
Jonas kicked his feet as he felt his body pulled completely from the tank, and collapsing to the solid ground, he panted, and looked back into the tank.
The guard was swimming their way, but was suddenly pulled below by an unseen force.
Jonas clambered to his feet, even as the body resurfaced, but did not move.
Teal'c and another guard reached over, and yanked the body from the tank, laying him carefully on the ground.
Jonas immediately moved over and crouched beside the still form of the guard, and turned him over, horrified to see the entry wound on the back of his neck.
"He's got one in him," he reported, gazing up at Teal'c and the collection of guards.
"Move aside," Teal'c ordered, drawing his zat, and aiming it at the guard.
Jonas stood once again, dripping, and heard the guards bark an order for Teal'c to lower his weapon.
"This man has become a Goa'uld," Teal'c informed the guards stoically, refusing to lower the zat gun.
Jonas shook his head, looking at his friend, and then back down at the man. "Something's wrong. This guy's completely out of it."
Teal'c lowered the zat gun, and glanced to the Kelownan.
With a sigh, Jonas looked to each of the guards in turn, and then down at the form of the unconscious man lying on the ground.
The Pangarans had a lot to answer for... as did Jonas and Teal'c for being in the facility in the first place. It was going to complicate matters somewhat. Jonas wasn't sure how it would affect the negotiations though.
But he knew one thing for sure... this was in no way a good thing.
