"Mommy, can we go to da pawk?" A boy about four years old asked.

Delia Ketchum looked up from her book to see her son, Ash. "Sure honey. Go
get your shoes on and we will be ready to leave." She replied with a smile.

"Yay!" He yelled. Like lightning he went upstairs to his room, got his
shoes, and ran back down them. His mother helped him into the car and drove
off towards the local park.
p
Ten minutes later they arrived at the park.
p
Immediately, Ash jumped out of the car and ran towards the park. "I am
gonna do da swings, da sandbox, da seesaw, da." Ash was saying out of pure
excitement as he ran towards the swings first.

Delia smiled at her son's enthusiasm. He was like this every time they
came. Hurriedly, she grabbed her book, and walked off towards the bench,
not waiting to find out what happened next.

Later, Ash was playing in the sandbox when a little girl with red hair
about his age came up and sat across from him.
p
"Hewo." She said looking at him with curiosity.
p
"Hi! You wanna help me with dis castle?" He said looking up at her.
p
"Really!?" She said. He nodded. "Yay!" She said excitedly and ran over and
sat down beside him. A couple minutes later she accidentally knocked down
the whole castle.

"I'm sorwy!" She said with tears streaming down her face.
p
Ash walked over to her and said, "It's ok! Pwease stop crying!"
p
She stopped crying and with a sniffel said, "Do you fogive me?"
p
"Of course! It was just an accident!" He said. Then he gave her a big hug.
p
"My name is Ash Ketchum. Wanna be my fwiend?"
p
"Yes! And my name is Misty Wataflower!" She said while giving him a big hug
also.
p
"Well, well, well. It looks like Ashy has a girlfriend!" A boy about six
sneered.
p
"Go away Gary!" Ash said to the older boy.
p
"Yeah!" Misty said stepping beside Ash.
p
"Aww, how cute. Ash's little ugly girlfriend is sticking up for him." Gary
laughed.
p
Misty immediately started to cry, while Ash's rage built up inside him.
p
"She is not ugly Gary! She is very pwetty! And I said go away!" Ash said
while shoving Gary to the ground. Gary immediately started to cry. He ran
away wailing like a baby.
p
Ash walked over to Misty who's crying started to slow down. He helped her
up and said, "Are you ok?"
p
"Yes." She said. "Do you really think I am pwetty?" She asked with hope in
her eyes.
p
"I think you are very pwetty!" Ash said shyly. At hearing this Misty
squealed and jumped into Ash's waiting arms.
p
"Thank you! No one has ever said that to me before. They just call me
wunt!" She said while tears of joy wetted Ash's shirt.
p
"Misty, like, we have got to go!" Said a girl about thirteen.
p
"Who is that?" Asked Ash.
p
"That is my sister. I have to go now. I will always remember you Ash!" She
said giving him another big hug.

"Bye Misty!" Ash shouted.
