Tournament Gone Wrong

"Quit shoving people! Quit shoving!" a voice yelled.
The Guild Headquarters was hectic with people and pets signing up for the Species Division Battledome Championships. Finally a girl and her pet made it to the registration line for kougras. There was ever color there from spotted to shadow. After about a ten minute wait, the pair was at the counter. A tired looking scorchio took out a new registration form and set it in front of him. Without looking at them, he began to fill it out.
"Owner's name?"
"Holly Toraneko."
"Name of pet being entered?"
"Arienne."
"Type of kougra?"
"Faerie."
"And current place of residence?"
"86086 Fire Faerie Crescent, Faerieland."
The scorchio took out a stamp and pressed a large red 'APPROVED' on the document.
"Congratulations, you've been approved. Now get out."
Holly and Arienne exchanged glances but quickly left the window. It took them a good five minutes to exit the crowded building. Once outside, Holly leaned against the wall.
"Phew! I never thought we'd get out of there!"
Arienne sat down.
"I know! Some people really should've left their grarrls at home, they're just too big!"
"It looks like there will be some tough competition this time, Kaynam."
Holly and Arienne turned as they heard a third voice. They saw a black haired teen leaving the headquarters with a halloween kougra at his side.
"Don't worry about it, Matt. It's nothing I can't handle," the dark kougra said. They walked away as the brown haired girl andj faerie kougra stared after them.
"Wasn't that kougra Kaynam Byakko?" Arienne asked.
"He's won the past two tournaments!"
"The only reason he won is because we haven't been there. This time we'll put an end to his winning streak, won't we?" Holly stated.
"Right!" her friend agreed.
"Can we go shopping now like you promised?"
"Okay, okay, fine. But we've got to get home before dark so you can see where you're flying!" Holly gave in.
A few hours later, the pair left a clothing store, Holly's arms full with bags. They couldn't fly home because of all the packages so they decided to take the air lift from the Haunted Woods to Faerieland instead. It was getting dark as they neared the lift.
"Did you hear that?" Arienne stopped walking and stood still.
"What are you talking about?" Holly turned around to look at her kougra. Then, her eyes widened as she pointed behind her friend.
"PANT DEVIL!"
