I would like to dedicate this story to Queen Serenity, my wonderful Aunt.
She is a very overlooked person, but I greatly admire her. She was not only
a wise and gentle ruler, but also a kind and loving mother. She sacrificed
everything she had to give her daughter and her friends a second chance at
happiness.
18 year old Tsukino Usagi was bored. Correction, she wasn't bored she was exasperated with her English Professor. (A.N.- Usagi is in college) Their class had been given an assignment instructing them to write a poem (in English of course) and English was not Usagi's best subject. She wasn't too good at poetry either. She lay on her bed, notebook in hand, trying to write.
Usagi sighed, twirling a piece of her long silvery hair around her finger. "I'll never get this done" she said, "I'm hopeless". Luna heard her and came into her room. "You know Usagi, your mother used to write poetry back in the Silver Millennium". "Really Luna" said Usagi excitedly "She did"? "Yes she did. She would often sit and watch you skate and write poems". "Wow Luna" exclaimed Usagi "That's amazing" "Your mother was an amazing woman Usagi" "Oh Luna, I miss her a lot sometimes. I wish I could remember" sighed Usagi and a tear rolled down her cheek. Luna jumped onto her lap, and Usagi began to pet her. "Don't be so sad princess. It's not like you, and besides, you know that Serenity-Sama is always watching over you." Usagi smiled. "You are right Luna. Thank you". "No problem Usagi. Now, would there happen to be any tuna fish left in the fridge?" Usagi giggled. Luna always knows how to make me laugh she thought. "Sure there is Luna, ask Mina-P to get it for you". Luna smiled, jumped down and exited the room. Usagi suddenly felt inspired and began to write.
My mother was an angel
From heaven up above. The ruler of our kingdoms Showering us with love
She had just one child That little one was me. We bore a name from generations past Both called Serenity
The empire she ruled With followers strong and true. She wielded the mighty power Of the legendary Ginzuishou.
She helped to make me stronger A true Princess was I. Who knew how very fast That precious time would fly.
With the powers that she held She gave us a new life. Giving it her all To end the awful strife.
I truly love my mother She shines just like a star. We'll always be together No matter how far
Away we are I always know She'll be right here with me. Someday we will meet again It is our destiny.
Usagi sighed, happy to be finished, and flopped down onto her bed. She gazed up through her window at the beautiful full moon. "I love you Mama.....
Awww! I worked very hard on this! I hope you all will like it and please leave me some nice reviews! HAPPY NEW YEAR!
