The Path
Squall and company walked through the forest in a very straight, single file line down a beaten path when Squall let out a piercing shriek, "ZELL! NO! STOP!"
Zell paused, slightly out of line, with his foot poised to step off the most holy Designated Walking Area. "What?!"
Rinoa, the third member of the current group, gasped with her hand clasped to her mouth, "Zell... Why... didn't you learn when you were little to NEVER EVER leave the Holy Paths?!"
"Well, yeah. Ma told me to not to step off of trails, roads, and sidewalks EVER, but I don't see why. Y'know what? I'm sick of sticking to the trails! From now on, I'll walk whereever I damn well want to!" and with that he stepped off the trail and ceased to exist.
Rinoa stared in shock, "He commited... the Most Horrible Sin..."
Squall shook his head sadly, "Well. That was a idiotic way to die, let's tell the others that he died in a cutscene." Rinoa nodded and they replaced Zell with Irvine and continued on their merry way.
