Chapter 1
Adrienne paced angrily in her bedroom. iWhy can't I go to the party?!
What did i do wrong?! I got good marks, I do my chores, and i'm obedient. AND I
STILL CAN'T GO?!i She thought to herself.
Adrienne has been waiting for this party for 2 months. But, this wasn't any
ordinary party; everyone invited has to dress up as a Lord of the Rings character.
Plus, it was suppose to be her best friend Elanna's birthday party too. Adrienne had
already gotten her costume, thinking that her parents would say that it was ok for her
to go to the party.
Adrienne plopped down on her chair, grabbed the phone and dialed Elanna's
number.
"Hello?" said the voice over the phone.
"hey 'lanna! Guess what happened!" Adrienne said trying to sound cheerful.
" You're allowed to go?"
" I wish... actually, it's just the opposite; I'm NOT allowed to go." Adrienne
replied dryly, " they wouldn't even listen to reason!"
" WHAT?!" Elanna said, suprised and shocked. " you mean Elrond isn't coming
to the party?"
" Shut up" Adrienne growled through the phone. " that's the last thing I need
from you. Besides; the costume wasn't my idea-"
" Yeah, that's cuz it was my brilliant idea..." Elanna said proudly.
" Then why Elrond?! I HATE HIM! you could have picked someone else you
know..."
" But, you were the first person to come to mind. Plus, you look like him!"
Elanna said happily.
" Don't push it..." Adrienne muttered.
"...same grey eyes, same long dark hair... same 'pure gold' expression when
mad" Elanna supressed a laugh.
" Anyways," Adrienne stressed, hoping to change the subject, "that's not why I
called; I'm here to discuss a plan to sneak out of my house. I'm asking you
because I can't think of anything."
Elanna simled. " I'm glad you asked." she said as a plan formed in her
mind. " so, you plan to sneak out of your house?"
" Yes, i suppose you have a plan?" Adrienne questioned.
" Yup!" Elanna said happily. " Now, when do you want the plan to be
executed?"
" at about... 2:00. can you make it?"
" Ya, I think so... that is, if you help me with the decorating." Elanna bribed.
" OK!!! WHAT EVER IT TAKES TO GET TO YOUR PARTY!!!!! plus, I've
got a few ideas for decorating..." Adrienne said.
" Great! I'll tell you the plan tomorrow. See ya Saturday!" Elanna said happily
as she hung up.
