I've tried hard, you know?
I've done everything I could think of
I've been honest, I've been patient and I have been hopeful
But now that you're back, I don't feel that you are as trustworthy as before.
You were right, I shouldn't have asked you to stay
Trying to be the Peacekeeper you once were was always your defense.
But lately, I've been trying to forget.
I've been trying to forget the first time I met you in that cell
I've been trying to forget that "too much oxygen" near frell we had in the transport pod.
I've been trying to forget about that one time
I've been trying to forget about not only the pain, Aeryn
I've been trying to forget the happiness
It all inner-connected, like a jigsaw puzzle, though you have no clue what it is.
But the thought of you alone hurts.
I hope this stuff is as good as Granny says it is.
At least it'd be better to forget than to remember.
