Cloud's Strife
Chapter 1
A Miserable night
"LAST CALL!"
A young man echoed throughout the empty bar as a few drunks ordered drinks and stumbled to the outside. The bartender taped a short spiky haired boy on his shoulder, whom was passed out on his right arm amongst the table. He awoke suddenly slightly confused and feeling dizzy.
The bartender picked up a few tips and stared at him furiously. "Come on already it's 4:30am.the bar is closing. And I think you ought to get home you've been here for the past five hours!" He shouted.
Cloud shook his head and rubbed his eyes, which were red and itchy. He groaned, straining his eyes in an attempt to see the man. He fell back down on the table with a loud thump. "Oh shit. my head." He whimpered.
"Listen kid.I've been working here for the past six fuckin hours having to deal with fuckin moronic drunks as yourself. Don't give me your fuckin shit just because you drank too much!" His eyes became red with fury as he pointed towards the door gasping for breath. "Now get the fuck out of my bar!"
Cloud mumbled to himself as he reached in his pocket and took out a fifty-dollar bill. He slid it across the table leaving the change as tip. He slowly jumped down from his stool and struggled to maintain his balance. He walked a few feet and fell to his knees grasping his head in pain.
"Get the fuck out! If you don't leave soon I'll call the cops on you, and they won't be as nice as I am!" encouraged the bartender to a miserable Cloud.
He quickly picked up his pace and walked outside falling to his knees once more. "That bastard." Cloud muttered under his breath. He rested there for a few minutes watching the bartender from the window. He sighed and stumbled to his feet as he waddled down the sidewalk. Cloud looked at his surroundings the best he could, noticing the other bars closing releasing its drunks into the coldness of the December morning.
Winter had taken its toll amongst the city, filling its streets with the damp, wet snow and the slick ice. And yet there was Cloud, in the beginning of the winter season with his sleeveless shirt and no coat, not a care in the world. He looked down watching his feet step on the freshly fallen snow making a delightful crunching noise. He smirked, slightly amused, as the alcohol poured through his body. Cloud began rubbing his head feeling worse then before.
The young spiky haired boy made his way home, after what seemed like an eternity. With his eyes half way closed and his body aching, he slipped off his shoes and hurried to the restroom. He fell to his knees in front of the toilet and vomited, coughing a few times, just to vomit once more. He breathed heavily and got up, examining himself in the mirror. His hands shivered as he bent over the sink drenching his face in cool water. Cloud reached into the cabinet and grabbed some mouthwash only using it for a few seconds.
The floor creaked as Cloud stumbled his way into the bedroom. Light began to pour into the room as the sun began to rise. Cloud threw a few pillows over his face and nestled in knowing tomorrow would be a better day. It had to be. He was visiting someone special, and this special someone had a special surprise waiting for him. Even though this night was a miserable one.better things were in store for him. Cloud smirked at the idea.
