Tear, tear. Hehehe ~Luv, Coco
Farewell, My Friends
To my best and closest friends, Hermione and Ron, I am writing this letter to inform you that I will not be coming home. I have realized that it is my final destiny to kill Lord Voldemort, but this can only be accomplished by sacrificing myself in the process. Don't cry, Hermione. I will be with you always, in spirit. You have Ron. You are each other's anchors now. Do not spend hours in the library researching killing curses. There is no other way. It would be best if you could accept this. I have. Ron, hold on to Hermione. Never stop loving her. Never hurt her, or I swear I will haunt you until we meet again in the afterlife. Be her anchor in bad times. You two will be the only living family of Harry Potter now. Hermione, I would like you to have my Invisibility Cloak and I would love for you to have Hedwig. May the Cloak help shield you from unfriendly eyes, and may Hedwig serve you as loyally as she once served me. Ron, take my Firebolt, my beloved broomstick and my other best friend. Ride it hard, and ride it well. Do not stick it on a display shelf. It was meant to be ridden. Also, Ron you can have the Marauder's Map. Always use it for mischief, as that was it's original purpose. May it help you see people's real identities, and never fail you. If you cannot take this, give it to Sirius. He will know what to do. Please explain to Sirius why I have to do this. Tell him I love him like a father, and that, even in death, I will never forget him. I will tell my parents what a great person he truly was. I love you all, my best friends. You are my family, and I shall never forget you. We will meet again, I am sure of it. Our souls are meant to be together. Remember me. Love, Harry
Hermione sobbed onto Ron's shoulder. "He can't die! I need him! We need him!"
Ron held the letter in one hand, not believing that his best friend could actually die. Leave him alone to face the world. Harry had always been there. He was like a constant presence, never wavering, always sure. And now he was gone.
Hermione gasped and choked on her tears. Ron could think of nothing to do, to say. He silently wrapped his arm around Hermione's shaking shoulders, and muttered meaningless condolences.
Outside, the celebration raged as it never had before. Voldemort was gone. For real, this time. And the one who killed him was the Boy-Who- Lived, Harry Potter, who had twice brought peace to the wizarding world. Toasts all over went to this amazing boy.
Inside, Harry Potter's best friends cried silently together, clinging on to the memory of their best friend.
