Author's note: As great as the last SMW show was we are going to all pretend it never happened. I really wish the company hadn't folded. I would have loved to see this feud unfold. So now, I'm going to write it. This is in the wrestling is real realm. Lawler sadly is the SMW champ in this fic wait my universe I can now change it. This takes place after Thanksgiving Thunder in 95.
Disclaimer: Sandy Scott and Jim Cornett owned SMW.
Surprising Allies
Ricky Morton hissed in pain as he sat down in the locker room. His left wrist was really hurting. The ambush by Robert Gibson and the Heavenly Bodies during the interview segment left him very sore.
Tracey Smothers looked at him in sympathy. "And just think we've got a match against them in a half hour."
"Don't remind me. Where's Tony?"
"He'll be here. He had to pick up Brandy."
"Good." Ricky said. He had a feeling that this match would be a lot tougher then Thanksgiving Thunder was. And he didn't just mean because his ex-best friend was on the other team. When he left in July, they had still been friends. Then Robert had trashed him on TV. Saying that Ricky had told him to take the Rock and Roll Express and stick it. He had never said that.
"Hey guys!" Tony Anthony said twenty minutes later. "You'll never guess who I have with me."
"Your wife?" Tracy asked.
"Well yeah. But besides her." Tony opened the door and two men walked in. Two men who hadn't been in SMW in two years. Two men who hated Ricky Morton.
Two men named Stan Lane and Bobby Eaton.
Ricky jumped to his feet. "What are they doing here?"
"Calm down Morton." Lane said. "We hate Cornett's militia as much as you do. Cornett didn't get us back here when he brought back Prichard and Del Ray. We want to pay him back."
"What makes you think we'll believe you?" Tracy asked. "You don't exactly have a treat track record for telling the truth."
"You are right we don't." Eaton said surprising everyone since Bobby wasn't known to be a big talker."
"Hey." Lane said taking the attention off Eaton. "If you can trust Anderson why can't you believe us? We are here to get revenge for what happened. You have our word."
Tony looked at his watch. "We've got a match. Stick around if you want." He, Tracy, and Ricky left the locker room.
"You don't really believe them do you?" Ricky asked.
"I'm not so sure. I ran into them in the parking lot and they said all they wanted to do was talk to us. Didn't see any harm in it. Guess we'll find out if they are telling the truth."
The Thugs music hit. Tracy and Tony went through the curtain first. As Ricky started to go through, he was hit from behind. He turned around to see the Heavenly Bodies, Gibson, and Cornett. They started kicking at his arm.
The Thugs, totally unaware of what was going on were in the ring. Mark Curtis found out what was going on and told them. They ran to the back. They were met by the Heavenly Bodies and the Former Midnight Express duking it out. They helped Ricky back to his feet.
"You okay?" Tracy asked. Ricky was clutching at his wrist but nodded. It took quite a few wrestlers to separate the Midnight Express and the Heavenly Bodies. When they got to the ring for the match, the brawl started again.
