Dealing with the Devil

Minor Chloe/Lex
Summary: Pete, Clark, Lex, and Chloe get snowball happy.
"C'mon Clark, we'll hit and run!" Pete pleaded as the two teenage boys camouflaged themselves by some bushes and watched Smallville's youngest millionaire walk towards his car.
"Pete, what if he's on his way to some where really important and doesn't have time to change? Or what if he has a cold? We could give him pneumonia and he could die. Do you really want that on your conscience?" Clark replied as Pete continued packing a snowball firmly and smiling.
Lex pulled his keys out of his pocket and felt for the keyhole buried under a thin layer of ice. Lex had just stuck his keys into the car door, when suddenly, with no warning, a cold, wet snowball hit his hairless head. When he turned around he saw Clark's patent brown coat disappear into the woods that surrounded his manor.

"You two!" Lex said in a slightly sinister way as he approached the two young boys the next day at the Talon.
"Yes, Mr. Luthor?" Pete replied, grinning in a Luthor's presence for the first time in his life.
"I am proclaiming war." He stated calmly, as if he was making the final settlement of a business deal.
"I don't see the three of you all together and Pete with a smile on his face very often. Someone care to tell me what's going on, before Pete's face splits in half?" Chloe asked; sliding past the still-standing Lex and setting her steaming cup of rich, dark brown liquid down.
"These two attacked me with snowballs when I was getting in my car yesterday, and all I want is a fair retaliation." Lex explained as Chloe broke into a grin.
"I told you two.I can't believe you did it!" Chloe addressed the two younger men. "And, for the record, I want an interview with your father ASAP, which I'm sure means I'll be waiting until NEXT New Year, but I thought I'd let you know." Chloe addressed the oldest of them all.
"I'll make you a deal," Lex said, realizing what kind of potential this situation had.
"Dealing with the devil now Chloe. Watch your soul." Pete mumbled so low only Chloe could hear.
"Speak fast, Luthor. I have to get the non-denominational holiday of the Torch to the printer." Chloe replied, choosing to ignore Pete altogether.
"If you'll be on my team against these two in a snow fight, I'll get you an exclusive interview."
"Works for me. I've got to get my baby hooked up to a printer though, so we'll talk about this more later." Chloe said, patting her laptop and dashing out of the coffeehouse. "This should be fun." Chloe grinned as she watched the three get into a very animated conversation through the Talon's window.
