Frodo's Journey
When Gandalf came he bore bad news
of elven rings of old
and Frodo bore the very One
that Sauron wrought with gold.
"The Ring must go to Mordor
be thrown into the flame
of the fire that did once make it
the one of which It came".
So Frodo brought his trusty friend
he was Samwise Gamgee.
They started off to Buckland
and became one plus three.
Soon Aragorn did join in Bree
their guide he was to be.
To Elrond's house they made for
the Ring it's fate to see.
On Weathertop came detriment
a Ring the Nazgul sought
and Frodo bore the very One
with gold that Sauron wrought.
To Rivendell was Frodo brought
the elves did make him well.
A council met the choice was made
for Frodo death's own bell.
In Moria did Gandalf die
the Balrog he did fight
the fellowship did weep much tear
that lasted day and night.
From Lothlorien there were gifts
the Ring the elves were told
for Frodo bore the very One
that Sauron wrought with gold.
Frodo left with Sam the Brave
"Without the rest we go"
The journey stood before them
The way they did not know.
In Emyn Muil a rocky path
they could not find a way
then Gollum came and brought much use
the path he chose to say.
Now, Gollum brought some mischief
the Ring he yearned to hold
and Frodo bore the very One
that Sauron wrought with gold.
Through dreary marshes they went next
dead faces they could see
of elves and men and orcs were they
with battle came great fee.
They reached the gate to Mordor
they could not pass into
but Gollum knew another way
in which they could go through..
They came there soon with short delay
t'was capture by Gondor
though shortly after they were freed
and made their way once more.
Shelob's cave was their way in
but Gollum led to pain
half beast half spider Shelob was
and food she meant to gain.
And Sam did fight but Frodo fell
the ring Sam'd have to hold
now Samwise bore the very One
that Sauron wrought with gold.
The Orcs then came, saw Frodo
for dead was Frodo not
so Samwise followed close behind
and tried to not get caught.
He rescued Frodo easily
they made their way once more
though the trip was difficult
they got right through Mordor.
The Ring did grow more weighty
and tired Frodo grew
through desert, danger they did pass
no hope to hold onto.
So on they went two hobbits far
and capture lurked right near
they climbed the angry mountain
twas victory right here.
The great top of Mount Doom
the Ring did Frodo claim
but Gollum bit it off his hand
and fell into the flame.
As evil fell and ravens flew
and life looked at it's end
an eagle soared twas Gandalf 'live
they flew to safeties mend.
A.N. I had to write a ballad for an English Assignement, so I wrote about LoR. I tried to get the whole story with as much detail as possible without writing a book long ballad. I hope you like it.
