Guns, Gold, and Glory
Prologue: A Injured Mouse, And A Mysterious Stranger
It was about mid-afternoon when it happened; an injured male mouse came stumbling down the dusty path to the Abbey of Redwall. Sister Sarah the resident abbey healer, and Dawn the abbey badgermother carried the badly injured mouse to the sickbay.
"Is he going to be all right Sister Sarah?" the Abbot of Redwall, Mayhew asked her. "He's very badly injured, it looks like he was stabbed with a sword in multiple locations. I don't think he'll last more than two days." Sister Sarah answered with serenity. "Will he be conscious anytime soon?" the Abbot asked Sister Sarah. "I think he might come around by suppertime." Sister Sarah sadly answered. "Well Sister, try to make him comfortable for his last few days, it's the least we can do for him, poor beast. I have to go now; I must go and plan the annual Nameday Feast, with the friar, and the badgermother." The Abbot told her. Sister Sarah sighed, and continued to bandage the injured mouse's paws.
Later that night, just after suppertime, a stranger knocked on the main gates of the Abbey; the Abbey wall guards let him in. But they never saw his face, because it always seemed to be in the shadows.
All the people in the great hall looked up at the stranger who had just walked into the great hall. The abbot got up from his place at the table, and walked towards the stranger to greet him, and get a closer look at him. The abbot was so surprised at seeing the stranger that he let out a gasp, which caused all of the Redwallers to get up from the table and crowd around the stranger. They all were surprised at what they saw...
