Little NaLu one-shot I came up with. Hope it's alright. ^^;

Disclaimer: I don't own Fairy Tail.

"Wow…" Lucy murmured, her blue eyes twinkling. "The moon is so beautiful…"

It is, Natsu thought, nodding his head slowly in agreement before averting his gaze from the sky above him, directing it to the girl by his side. But nowhere near as beautiful as you, Lucy…

The pair of young Mages were sitting together in the middle of a flowery field. The full moon loomed above them to illuminate the night in the help of the thousands of twinkling stars. A gentle breeze passed through, carrying several cherry blossom petals. Some of them stuck to Natsu's hair, bringing an amused giggle out of Lucy.

"Nice!" she commented. "Those petals really go with the color of your hair."

"You think so?" Natsu made a face. "How about I cast a spell for your hair to match mine too!"

"Just try it!" Lucy stuck her tongue out. "Turn my hair pink and I'll turn you into a flower! Then you'll have to stay out here forever with the bees constantly bugging you!"

Natsu laughed. The bickering which he often got into with the blonde could go on for eternity. They were often butting heads and rubbing each other up the wrong way - and that was just the way he liked it. No one else in Fairy Tail had a relationship with him as special as the one he shared with Lucy.

"I could stay out here forever myself!" The girl stretched her arms over her head and yawned. "But I'm getting bushed. I should really turn in for the night."

"Oh…" Natsu tried not to look disappointed upon hearing she was planning to leave his side. "That's cool. I guess I'll see you in the morning."

"You sure will…"

Lucy gazed sleepily up towards the boy. Her blue eyes twinkled as they reflected the silver moonlight. A sweet smile found its way onto her lips - which she pressed softly against Natsu's cheek.

The pink-haired Mage stiffened up, his cheeks turning red over what the blonde had just done to him.

"G'night, Natsu…"

Lucy giggled again, amused by Natsu's reaction over what she had planted onto his face. She rested her head onto his shoulder, her smile remaining on her face as she closed her eyes.

For a moment, Natsu remained rigid in his utter surprise over getting a kiss from Lucy. Then he snapped out of it upon realising what she was doing now. He had expected her to get up and leave him in the field to retire to her apartment. Instead, she was remaining at his side - clearly making herself comfortable there.

"Lucy?"

The girl didn't respond to the boy saying her name. The only sound to escape her was soft, contented breathing, which was enough to make Natsu realise - much to his utter disbelief - that she had fallen asleep against him.

He stared in bewilderment at the blonde as she slumbered away against his shoulder. What should he do? Lucy had told him she ought to turn in for the night. Maybe he should pick her up and carry her into town to return her to her apartment.

But she looked so peaceful. She was clearly comfortable where she was if she had fallen asleep so quickly against him. It would be a shame if he were to disturb her by carrying her all the way into town.

A smile crossed Natsu's face as he quickly decided what was the best thing to do.

I don't know about staying out here forever, Lucy, he thought, but you can stay out here for the night - and so will I.

He wrapped his arms around Lucy, placing his hand gently on her head to keep her in place against his shoulder. Taking care not to wake her, he laid the pair of them down onto the ground. The grass was soft underneath them. The flowers danced over them in the night breeze while the stars shimmered in the sky while the moon took centre stage above them.

Natsu looked up at the luminous scene for a moment before sending his smile towards the more beautiful sight in his arms. He held Lucy closely, determined to keep her warm and protected all through the night. He ran a hand tenderly through her hair, taking in how sweet and peaceful the sleeping blonde looked before planting a kiss onto her own cheek.

"G'night, Lucy," Natsu murmured as he closed his own eyes, keeping his arms wrapped securely around the girl. "Sweet dreams…"
