Hello, this is my first ever Fanfic that I've considered making public on FF. I have been reading a lot of Manhwa/ Manga/Manhua recently, and after reading a few Naruto/ The Gamer stories, I've decided to have a go at writing one myself. There is one fact I want to make clear going forward, the main character will not just automatically accept his newfound situation like some weirdo. He's (I'm not good at female main characters) going to be a regular dude who just happens to have watched both Naruto & Boruto, and while he may have had quite a few fantasies about being in that world, he's still going to panic like any other normal human being in this situation. He's just had an unfortunate encounter with Truck-Kun, I know that this little device is overused as hell, but it's still a lot less cringey than a random portal appearing by him and pulling him in. This first chapter will be a prologue and will start with our MC freaking out and eventually going through the stages of acceptance, there will also be a lot of descriptions for each of the options that the MC has in this world, so if you don't like all that stuff, don't feel obliged to read those parts. Now that this rather long description is out of the way, let's get on with the story :) ...
WARNING: This Fanfic will contain strong language and some scenes containing extreme violence, so this Fanfic is not suitable for any kids reading it. However, there will be absolutely NO LEMON SCENES, this isn't that kind of story... there will be potential ships later on though, only once the character reaches an age that they're comfortable to start dating at.
Note: This story will probably have very slow pacing near the beginning, and don't expect uber-long chapters, the most I will write will be between 5k and 10k words per chapter. I will not include descriptions for menial tasks earlier on, just to add to the word count. However, I will start doing this once it comes to the main character starting D Rank Missions.

Greg paused then, "Ok, that's the second time I've heard that FUCKING NOISE, just where is it coming from, let's just play along for now and freak out some more later if needed, this is probably just some bad dream, my alarm clock will probably go off at some point soon anyways. Ok, Mr. or Ms. voice, can you please explain in simple words, with the assumption that this is all a dream of course. Just tell me what's going on first and then we'll go from there, I'm not the smartest person so please don't overcomplicate things!"
Of course! It is understandable for you to be confused in this situation. I am a system, one of those systems that you find in those Webtoons you used to read. I apologise for reading your mind, I had to acquire some appropriate data on you in order to find the appropriate options for you. Now for that explanation. You have just met your unfortunate end thanks to some idiot driving too fast in his truck, you were chosen out of trillions upon trillions of other souls to get a second chance of life, I do not know why you were chosen, you and I can hopefully work that out together at some point. Nobody has ever had this opportunity granted to them, that is all I know. You have been given a choice of alternate versions of your world to travel to, they just happen to be those worlds where your favourite anime shows took place such as "Boku no Hero Academia", "One Piece", "Naruto", "Dragon Ball", and many others. You also have a wide variety of options to choose from once you have decided which world you want to go to, as well as which cheat system you want to receive when you arrive there. I hope that my choice of terminology was suitable for you.
Greg took a deep breath, "So, as I understand it, I've basically been killed by a truck and some random god has decided to give me this new opportunity at life in the world of one of my favourite anime series. I also get a cheat system from one of those Webtoons that I love reading from time to time. Your explanation was quite simple, so let's just go with this, I would like to go to the "Naruto" world with the system used by 'Han Jihan' from the Manwha called "The Gamer"."
So you have chosen "Naruto" and "Han Jihan's Gamer System". Before we go onto character creation, here is a list of factions that you can choose to be taken to directly. You will also have the option of just being taken to a random location within the elemental nations. I won't provide any descriptions for these factions as you already have an exceptionally good working knowledge of each of them.

"Many of those clans are extremely tempting, but I think that I'll go with a random civilian family. While I would love all of the benefits that come with these clans, I want to make sure that I don't stand out too much at the beginning and becoming 'Rookie of the Year' will still be quite easy thanks to how overpowered 'The Gamer' system is as a whole."
This is also an excellent choice, you are right in saying that a lot of these Ninja clans would give you a lot of advantages but choosing a civilian family will help you to blend in with the crowd initially, it will also serve as a more interesting challenge for you. Your main goal will be to become the God of this world after all. It is a fairly generic goal, given the circumstances but very fitting since it is 'The Gamer' system we are talking about. I assume that you will want to arrive sometime before the start of Episode 1, so you can have plenty of time to prepare yourself, you will be a random civilian after all.
Greg couldn't help but be impressed, this dream was turning out to be one hist most interesting ones by far. "I would definitely appreciate arriving before the events of the first episode, I want to have the chance to befriend all of the Rookie Nine before I start at the Ninja Academy. Just give me a random male character, actually, make me an orphan too, that would be much appreciated, also make sure that my version of the system is converted to having stats that match the world of 'Naruto'.

Arriving at Konoha orphanage bedroom...
Warning, rapid de-aging, and regression of body structure, this will probably cause immense physical pain... commencing...
Greg screamed at the top of his voice as his body started to rapidly change, "AAAARRRRGGGHHH! THAT DEFINITELY HURTS! DAMN, OH GOD NO, THIS IS MOST DEFINITELY NOT A DREAM! DREAMS AREN'T SUPPOSED TO HURT LIKE THIS!"
He stopped screaming abruptly as his body had stopped changing. He looked down at himself and sighed, "I guess I really am 4 years old again, I never thought I'd say that again, that wouldn't have been a sane thought, I'll probably have to dumb down my language a bit, I can't be looking too smart just yet..."
Greg realised then that he was no longer Greg now, that man had died and now he was 'Ichibei Toyonobu'. Memories of staying in the orphanage came back to him as he smiled. "At least I've had a pleasant 4 years up until now, nobody has bullied me or shunned me, and why should they? Of course, most of them probably hate Naruto at this point, he is the Jinchuuriki of the Nine Tailed Fox, although most people except for higher level ninjas don't know that, they just follow the crowd."
He suddenly heard the heavy footfalls of someone approaching his bedroom, "Oh yeah, I did scream rather loudly didn't I..."
His door was violently flung open as a young woman appeared at the entrance, she was clearly very out of breath and VERY OBVIOUSLY worried. Some memories surfaced then, this was 'Fubuki Azukayo', one of the newer wardens who had just started working at the Orphanage a few months back and was brought in because of her overly caring nature. "Ichibei, what happened to you? Why did you suddenly scream like that? Did someone try to break in?"
Her sudden rush of questions was rather overwhelming, possibly due to his age, but more likely to do with his low INT stat which made it harder to process things. Fubuki seemed to notice this, and sighed, "Sorry Ichibei-san, I just panicked, but please tell me what happened."
Ichibei sighed, "I'm alright Ms. Fubuki, I just had a bad dream, is Ms. Fubuki ok?"
Fubuki seemed relieved by this, and her panicked demeanour slowly faded until she almost looked happy again, "That's good to hear, we all have bad dreams sometimes so it's perfectly normal to scream. What happened in your dream to scare you like that though, your dreams aren't usually scary for you."
Ichibei put on his serious face, which just looked adorable to Fubuki, "Well you see Ms. Fubuki, there was this great big Octo-thingy monster and it had eight tails, it had that weird charka stuff around it, it was chasing me away and I tried to use my explodey-beam-of-doom to make the monster go away, but nothing happened, he got really close to me, and then I woke up!"
Fubuki was making cuing sounds this whole time but she took a step back as she realised what was wrong with this particular "monster", "You said it had eight tails Ichibei-san? Are you sure about that?"
Ichibei tilted his head to the side, "Yes Ms. Fubuki, it had eight tails, what's wrong with that?"
The young warden took a deep breath and put on a smile for the kid, "Oh don't worry, it just made that monster seem very scary, it's a good thing that it's not real. Well, I hope that you manage to get back to sleep and don't have any more, scary dreams."
Ichibei grinned, he decided that he already liked this young woman, I can already tell that we're going to get along just fine. "Thank you Ms. Fubuki, I hope so too."
With that, Fubuki quietly left the room, closing the door gently behind her. She couldn't help but feel a rising panic, which was perfectly understandable, it's not every day that a 4-year-old kid has a dream about the Eight-Tails. She was going to have to have a very serious talk with Hiruzen about this.
Meanwhile, back with Ichibei, he decided to check out what kind of body was given to him, and he wasn't exactly happy with what he saw, and that was a rather chubby body, and not just that pudginess that comes with being a kid, he was full on chubby, not that he had anything against this, it was just less than ideal given his situation. It didn't help that the system had told him that his talent was "lower than trash", but at least his body and talent could be raised as he levelled up. He was slowly but surely beginning to accept his reality, Greg had died, but had been given a second chance of life and had actually been sent to the world of "Naruto". The same world where the average ninja could run at an insane speed of around 60 – 65 MPH (96.6 – 104.6 KPH) and punch their way through solid stone walls. He decided to check something else to make sure that it was also there, Status Window, he said this in his head, and, as expected, a brown status window appeared in front of him along with an explanation for this particular version.
Welcome Ichibei, It's good to see that you have settled down. Even though you have chosen this particular system, we have given some additional options with it, such as either showing how much XP is needed to level up or just a percentage showing how close you are to levelling up. MP has been replaced with CP (Chakra Points), and there are a few extra stats to choose from, you will also be given 10 stat points instead of 5 whenever you level up. Just say the name of each stat in your head if you want an in-depth explanation for it, as well as any other feature within the system. We wish you the best of luck in your new life. Stat values have also been matched to this world's scaling.

He supposed that it made sense, he wasn't even a ninja in training yet, so it made sense that he'd have some disadvantages. So this kid likes his chocolate then. Ichibei then said Sleep and he automatically fell asleep. He woke up to the sound of an incredibly loud ringing and groped around with his eyes still half closed from sleep and found the alarm clock, before deactivating the alarm. He then realised that is was actually a physical alarm clock rather than a mobile app. Then he remembered, "Ah yes, I got transported to the world where tailed beasts nuke you for fun, how wonderful. Ah, 7 AM start, just like home."
Ichibei then stretched, and let out a yawn, and then got up.
Good Morning Ichibei! You have slept for 3h, 57m, 22s. HP and CP were not recovered because they were already full! Reminder: Make sure to complete as many Daily Quests as possible.
"Ah yes, Gamer system, I have that now. First things first, let's get ready before Breakfast, you never know when there might be a hidden quest."
Ichibei quickly showered, brushed his teeth, and got dressed, all within ten minutes, just to see if anything would happen. He was pleasantly surprised when another alert popped up.

Status Window. His usual status window opened, and he could see that he now had 35/50 XP needed to level up. He then headed down the corridor until he reached the community dining hall, where a few of the other orphans were already waiting eagerly for their morning meal. "I've always wondered what they ate here in Naruto's canon timeline. I only really remember Ichiraku Ramen and the Akimichi's Barbecue Restaurant, so I often thought about whether there were any civilian-run restaurants around the village (Teuchi & Ayame were both ninjas at one point). Maybe I'll consider opening a Restaurant that makes all of my favourites from my world. Pizza, Pasta, Lasagne, Indian food, you name it, I hope that this system will create a cooking skill once I start to cook for myself. A wonderful smell suddenly wafted in from the kitchen, Is that Rice and Miso Soup? That means that there'll be boiled vegetables and Natto (fermented soybeans), oh, and I definitely can't forget that amazing fish, I never liked the pickles though. So it's a traditional Japanese breakfast, who would have thought that there would be similarities between here and the real world? Ichibei finished his internal monologue as all of the things he was expecting to see, including the pickles unfortunately. Another alert popped up suddenly.

Ichibei couldn't help but marvel at this system's ability to mimic a casual conversation. The food was now on the table, and we all chorused "Itadakimasu!"
This simple word simply meant "Thanks for the food", and Ichibei had been waiting to say this for a long time, so he felt very satisfied when saying it now along with the other orphans. The room had gone silent, a little too silent, nobody seemed to be eating yet, I looked up and realised that everyone was staring at me. Shit, did I go out of character? Am I not supposed to say that? What's wrong with this kid? Is normally rude or something, let's just see what's happening here.
"What's wrong everybody?"
Ichibei asked anyone who was willing to answer his question, it was Fubuki who answered, "Ichibei-san, I've never heard you join in with us before. What happened?"
Ah, I see… so that's how it is. He went back through his limited memories and discovered that she was indeed correct, he was a rather anti-social kid and only really opened up to Fubuki. Shit, I'm supposed to be keeping a low profile. Think quick! Think quick! Ah, maybe that'll work. "You told me I should try being nicer around other orphans, I tried it Ms. Fubuki, it felt nice ahahaha."
Fubuki, as well as the other wardens, seemed more than a little surprised. "I never thought that you'd do it, that's all."
Everyone else seemed to be in agreement. So I'm supposed to be very anti-social, great… at least they accepted my reason. Let's take this slowly now, shall we? Everyone started to actually eat the food then, and they all enjoyed the cooked breakfast in silence. It was delicious, of course, a lot more so than Ichibei had been expecting it to be. Then again, it wasn't every day that you got to enjoy the actual traditional cuisine in the country itself, or at least, an alternate version of that country.
Ichibei had trouble using the chopsticks and was worried that he might be acting out of character, and looked at the other orphans of various ages, and he breathed a sigh of relief. It seemed that those who were of a similar age to him also struggled to use them successfully.

Skill Description: Chopsticks make it easier to handle to handle hot food. This is mainly because they are mainly composed of wood or bamboo, so this means that they have a lower thermal conductivity (don't heat up as quickly) than metal utensils. A pair of Chopsticks can also serve as a very efficient cooking tool. They can function as tongs, but they offer much more precision and control when picking up food. They remove the need for a lot of cooking utensils since they can be used for frying, stirring, stir-frying, grilling, or stewing food.
Ichibei stared at this new window, he was a little surprised to say the least. Of course, [The Gamer] system automatically creates active or passive skills when I repeat various actions a few times. This skill won't be particularly useful in later life, but it is a welcome addition to my rather limited repertoire of skills. As long as there is some kind of limit in place so that I don't start using Chopsticks with impossible accuracy, that's fine.
There's no need to worry Ichibei, every skill has a level cap and this one has a maximum level of 40.
That's good to hear System. As it turned out, he wouldn't have to wait too long before the skill levelled up.

Ichibei smiled at this, at least it doesn't take ages to level up this skill, then again, I am really bad at using chopsticks so it's not that surprising really. His [Chopsticks] skill would continue to level up a little more slowly each time throughout the meal. He noticed that he received more experience when he did a little better than other attempts when using the chopsticks. I guess that it was worth coming here after all. Things weren't exactly going well at home, what with falling out with most of my family over such stupid reasons. At least I'm somewhere I can just sit down and think about these things without someone intruding on my thoughts. There were plenty of upsides to this travelling to this world, but then again, what about all the friends he'd left behind after being reincarnated? He was just starting to get started on his first relationship. Fuck, yeah, they were some great friends, they could be harsh at times, but they kept me going when I hit a rough patch, I guess I'll have to wait quite a while before I can even consider having a relationship. I know that I can make some equally amazing friends here among the Rookie Nine, but still, I'll miss you guys. He couldn't help but wonder why he wasn't more emotional about this, but then he thought, of course, [Gamer's Mind] is probably in effect right now, that's probably the reason that I'm so calm about this. I'll have to find away to deactivate that skill, it's still important for me to experience human emotions. I can express positive emotions quite easily, but I can only go on so long whilst faking negative emotions. People are going to get suspicious. As if waiting for him to land on this train of thought, the system was quick to help.

You will now be able to notice a downgrade in the difficulty of the quests. Long term quests have also been locked since there's no point in trying to reach those goals when you can't even use chakra until the academy.

Thank you very much for making those adjustments. By now, Ichibei, along with most of the other orphans, had now finished their meals. They were all filing out now, mostly in ones or twos, sometimes in groups too. Time to see if I can trigger a hidden quest. "Ms Fubuki, can I help with cleaning?"
Fubuki looked shocked once again, "Oh, that would be wonderful Ichibei-san, please just gather the plates and take them back to the kitchen, me and the other wardens will wash them. Don't worry if you can't manage to bring all of them at once."

Reputation shows you how well liked or disliked/ respected or disrespected you are by individuals or organisations. If you gain reputation with an individual, they will like and respect you more than they did before. However, if you gain or lose reputation with an organisation, like [Konohagakure Orphanage]; then you will gain reputation will every individual within that organisation.

Wow, that's a lot of levels, Ichibei was surprised. He then stared at Worshipped, I really hope that nobody worships me anytime soon, that's just insane. It'll probably happen inevitably if my reputation keeps rising with certain people or organisations. The level of detail is impressive though. Ichibei decided that now would probably a good time to complete this quest, he was pretty confident in his "cleaning up skills" but wasn't sure how competent this body would be at carrying this out. Oh well, the system will probably generate the appropriate skills for me.

Just under 25 minutes later he was done, he had enjoyed cleaning up, all of the other wardens seemed friendly enough, for some reason though, he didn't really remember their names too well. They were all very grateful for his help, and as a result, he cleared all of the bonus objectives for the quest as well as just the main one.

This is amazing! I can actually feel the difference when I increased my stats, just like in all of those stories! I guess that the best thing to do now is to try doing some quests, and also see what I can do to actively train my other stats. Ichibei sighed, it was still hard to accept that all of this was his new reality, he then decided to think about all of that a little later. It was going to be an interesting new life, one away from the hubbub of his old world and into one filled with unrealistically strong people, as well as tailed beasts who could spam miniature nukes. Other than that, it was definitely going to be fun, at least, he hoped so…
