Spooky season greetings, everyone! I hope October's been going well for you all (if not a bit too quickly, if you ask me).
I come bringing for your spooky reading pleasure a new two-shot starring one of my favorite ship pairings with a twist. And just what is this twist, you may be asking? Read on to find out, and I hope you all enjoy this.
(Disclaimer: I own none of the wrestlers used in and mentioned in this story. They are the property of themselves, the WWE, and the promotion(s, in Kaitlyn's case) they wrestle(d, in AJ's case) for. I only own the ideas going into this.)
(Now, in case anyone's wondering about my other AJxKaitlyn story, I promise to get back to that one. I just have to get this idea out of my head.)
Looking around the crowded club, AJ Mendez couldn't help the bored sigh that escaped her.
'This place is so boring. No one around that I'd want to get with,' the brunette thought, her fingers running around the rim of the empty glass in front of her. Deciding it'd be best to cut her losses and leave, AJ left some money on the counter by her glass and proceeded to make her way through the club to the exit.
Stepping outside and feeling the cool of the night, the brunette breathed in the fresh air before walking away from the club as she let her eyes roam around the busy city nightlife. She could feel her teeth begin to itch as she looked at all of the people around her.
'Who among these humans can I get to come with me?' the brunette thought. 'Who would be easy enough to lure?'
Just as she was about to give up and head back to her apartment did AJ see a promising candidate coming her way: A woman was weaving her way through the crowds of other people out and about, her coat pulled closely to her in a bid to fight off the chilly air. While this seemed fairly normal, what kept AJ's eyes on the woman was her long black and blonde hair that was getting blown about by the wind.
Taking another breath, AJ was immediately hit by a scent that almost made her start to drool. 'Whoever that is, I must have her.'
…
Kaitlyn Bonin was so glad to be heading back to her apartment. She normally wouldn't mind being out at this time, but it was for a good reason. ...At least, it was a good reason to her. 'Maybe next time, I'll be sure to pre-order a copy of a DVD I want. Can't believe how lucky of a buy I got with this monster movie set. Now to check out these classics when I get back ho-' A sudden collision almost took the two-toned woman off her feet and made her drop her bag. Looking down, Kaitlyn happened to see that she had accidentally bumped into someone. "Oh my gosh. I'm so sorry! Here, let me help you up," she said as she held a hand out to the person she bumped into.
Taking the other woman's hand, the stranger said "Thanks" with a sniffle.
"No problem. ...Hey, is everything okay? You seem a bit upset about something."
"No, not ...not really," the stranger said.
"If you don't mind me asking, what's wrong? Do you maybe want to talk about it?"
"Well, I just," the stranger began before a hiccup escaped her. "I just had a bad breakup with my boyfriend, so I just ...I've just been walking around trying to get my mind off of him. And so far, …so far, it hasn't helped."
"Oh damn," the two-toned woman said in response of this. It was never a good thing to have to deal with a breakup-something that she dealt with a bit in the past herself-so, she couldn't help but feel bad for this stranger. So, surprising herself with what she said next, Kaitlyn said "Well. Since you still seem so down about this, how about you come to my place and watch a movie with me?"
"Y-Are you sure about that? I don't even know you."
"Well, I've always been told to help out people when they may need it, and you seem like you could use an ear to talk to. Plus, you can't go wrong with catching a good movie or two."
"Y-Yeah, I guess you can't go wrong with that," the other woman said with a giggle. "OK sure. Why not? Maybe a movie is just what I need to get my mind off of my now ex."
"Awesome. I just need to grab a few more things, and then we can head back to my apartment."
"O-OK," the brunette said.
Starting to walk ahead, Kaitlyn turned to look back at her movie watching companion for the evening. "That reminds me, I haven't introduced myself. Name's Kaitlyn. Kaitlyn Bonin," the two-toned woman said by means of introduction with a smile.
"Nice to meet you, Kaitlyn. My name's AJ. AJ Mendez," the brunette said with a small smile as she introduced herself.
She couldn't believe her luck. AJ just couldn't believe how easy this was. 'Damn. Who knew luring a human was gonna be this easy? I almost feel a bit bad about just drinking her blood and then bailing. She seems like a cool enough chick. Not to mention she is pretty cute. …No, Mendez, don't do this! Don't get too chummy with your food! You're just going to watch a movie or two, have some of her blood, make it worth her while, then leave. That's all.'
The walk and quick errand running between the pair had actually been going fairly well. Sure, they were both strangers to each other, but …there was just something that had them both feeling largely at ease with each other. Maybe it was their similar dating histories. Maybe it was their ages. Or maybe, and this was probably the biggest thing, they both had some fairly geeky interests.
"Ohmygosh, you seriously camped outside of a GameStop just for one of the newest Pokémon games?" Kaitlyn asked.
"Yep. I know that probably isn't the smartest thing to do, as you never know what kind of jerks might be out late at night. But I couldn't help it! I'd been wanting Pokémon X for my 3DS forever, so when the GameStop around here announced they were having a midnight release, I just had to go! Luckily, I didn't have to deal with too many assholes there. Plus, I got a nice goodie bag of stuff as an early release present, so I guess you could say it was all worth it in the end," AJ explained, feeling a slight swell of pride as she thought back to how she dealt with some of the more abrasive people that were there that night.
"Well, I gotta say that's pretty impressive stuff," Kaitlyn said with a light round of applause. "I'd say you're crazy for doing that, but I've had my share of doing crazy stuff."
"Yeah, it still amazes me that you were actually lucky enough to win a Dance Dance Revolution tournament. I thought that game wore people out like crazy."
"Oh, it's no big deal when you've got dancing moves like mine," the two-toned woman said before demonstrating some of her moves by doing the Running Man.
Not even stopping the laugh that escaped her, the brunette said "Wow. Nice moves you got there."
"Thanks," Kaitlyn grinned as the pair reached her apartment. "So, here we are. You ready to head inside and watch some movies?"
"Sure. Just lead the way," AJ said with a grin.
"But of course," Kaitlyn said with a grin of her own before she went and unlocked the door to her apartment.
All while she watched the two-toned woman do this, AJ couldn't help the slight smirk that tugged at the corners of her mouth. 'Won't be too much longer now. Dinner and a movie. Can't believe my luck here.'
So, it would appear as though AJ has a date (of sorts) after not seeming to find anyone at the club she was at. Dinner and a movie (and maybe something more). Looks like the pair have quite the night ahead of them. How will it all go? We shall find out...next time. Until then, don't forget to RR please. =)
(Stay safe, healthy, and warm out there, lovelies. *sends love and positive vibes out to you all*)
