It has been a few months since the day Georgie had gone missing and It had only been a few days since his older brother Bill had accepted that he was not missing,he was dead. It had been nearly impossible at first to get Bill to understand that his little brother was not missing but deceased. Bill was adamant that he will find his little brother, not believing that he was gone. He had refused to listen to anyone who would tell him that he was wrong, that Georgie was not just disappeared.

He did not believe that until that day in August 1989,10 months since that rainy day. He was with his friends in that place. He had found the tattered yellow raincoat that had belonged to Georgie. That wad when he realized that his little brother was not missing but he was dead. 10 months earlier when he had gone missing was his last day. Once finding the raincoat,Bill finally accepted it. After spending 9 months of not accepting the truth. All it took was finding the yellow raincoat.

Stan decided to see how Bill has been doing given the circumstances and made his way to his house. He knew how hard it's been for the auburn haired Denbrough boy since accepting the truth. Stan would be lying if he said he was not worried about Bill. He had accepted a difficult truth not that long ago. He knew that the boy was blaming himself for what happened to his little brother even though it was not his fault. Bill had been sick that day the younger Denbrough boy left anyway. He couldn't help it that he was sick that day in October 1988 when Georgie left and he knew that. But he still blamed himself for what happened to Georgie even though it's not his fault.

Stan arrived at the Denbrough house and went inside knowing that Bill was not going anywhere. He knew Bill had to be home. He had been shutting himself away as he mourned his brother and since he accepted the truth, there was something different about him which Stan knows has to be a reaction to having lost his little brother. Bill was becoming isolated from anyone. Stan thought that it was a normal reaction to grieving for Georgie. It had to be a normal reaction to grief/loss.

He goes to Bill's bedroom and sees his friend lying there on his bed asleep but not peacefully. The boy was thrashing around while whimpering. He was very obviously having a nightmare. Stan walks to him,"Bill,it's okay. It's me,it's Stan." Bill woke up with a start. He looks around with wild eyes and sees Stan and falls forward and so Stan embraced him, rubbing his back and whispering soothing words to him,"It's alright Billy. I've got you. You're safe. It's just a nightmare. Everything's ok. Shhhh. Shhhh." Bill stopped whimpering and thrashing. He comes out of his nightmare state.

He said,"It's all my fault. It's my fault that Georgie's g-g-gone. How could I have let this h-h-happen?" Stan said,"Bill, what happened to Georgie is not in any way, shape or form your fault. You were sick that day. You could not have helped that." Bill said,"I am to blame for it." Stan said,"William,it's not ever going to be your fault for what happened to him." Bill said,"Yes,it is my fault." Stan said,"William Denbrough, what happened to Georgie is not your fault." Bill said nothing. He knew Stan was right and that was no reason to argue with him and he knew there was no way he would have known what happened was going to happen that rainy October 1988 day.

Bill began crying. Stan held him, gently rocking him back and forth as if Bill was a newborn baby. He knew that Bill needed the comfort and he was happy to give him the comfort that he needs. He began singing a lullaby to help soothe the grieving teen in his arms. Soon Bill was peacefully asleep. Stan laid him down and Bill whimpered and Stan laid down beside him, hugging him close.
