"So, you want to go see that new movie tonight?" Mariano asked. Isabela didn't pay much attention since she was doing her daily chores. "We could go see that new horror movie. It's the movie with that one guy with the mask. I think he stabs people, or he uses a chainsaw. It's related to some holiday. Maybe Saint Patrick's Day."
"Are you talking about Halloween Ends?" Isabela asked.
"Yes," Mariano declared. "Dolores told me you like scary movies. I like them too."
"Really?" Isabela asked. "You can't even walk in the kid's section of the bookstore without getting scared by a Goosebumps book."
"Whoever made those covers is an evil genius," Mariano argued.
"And you can't handle an adult horror movie," Isabela said.
"I can," Mariano insisted. "Let's go tonight. I will show you I won't be scared by Jason Voorhees."
"It's Micheal Myers," Isabela corrected. "Jason is from the Friday the Thirteenth movies."
"More movies for us to watch together," Mariano said excitedly.
"You want to go see a scary movie with me?" Isabela asked. "Fine, but you're paying."
"Of course," Mariano said. This date should be interesting, Isabela thought.
Throughout the movie, screams rang through the theater every time Micheal appeared onscreen. Everyone thought it was Isabela due to the scream's pitch. However, Isabela was silently enjoying the movie. It was her date making the noise.
It was a relief to everyone's ears when the credits rolled. "That movie was good," Mariano said. Though, his face told another story. He was paler than a ghost. "Let's watch it again."
"I'd rather watch it again with my Tía Pepa," Isabela said.
"Will you walk me home?" Mariano asked.
"Seriously?" Isabela asked.
"And don't tell anyone about this?" Mariano asked.
"Okay," Isabela sighed.
