A/N- This is primarily a crossover between the Harry Potter and Warhammer fantasy universes with other fandoms involved to varying degrees. The inspiration for this story is a Doctor Who audio story called A Thing of Guile. I hope you enjoy the story.
A Thing of Beauty
There was a desolate landscape, filled with nothing but rocks and mountains. Every so often, vultures would swoop down to pick at dead wolves, boars and Greenskins. These were the Badlands. Most of it had been developed to support modern infrastructure such as roads, railways and cities but there were still some sections of the region that remained largely undeveloped. For a secret Outer Heaven science facility in a barely visible bunker, that desolation was an ideal shield... until now.
Harry led a team consisting of several WSF, Chaos and Empire agents and special forces operatives into this area, having found out about the base. They mostly wore camouflage fatigues although a few of them wore leather jackets or jumpsuits and Harry's uniform had a couple of pens poking out from one of the pockets. They were unaware of the facility's exact location until they stumbled upon the facility's entrance. One of the Chaos agents in the team took one look at the entrance and spoke to Harry, "It appears that the entrance can only be opened from the inside."
"I can see that. We probably can't use this entrance anyway as there's likely to be a ton of guards on the other side of it." Harry looked around, searching for an alternative way in. He scanned the immediate vicinity for one until he found an unusually large vent. "Ladies and gentlemen, I think we have our way in." He launched a couple of silent reductor curses to destroy the reinforced vent cover although this then led to Harry and his team silently questioning why the vent cover had to be reinforced. They then entered the vent cautiously as though they were expecting a trap.
After only a few hundred metres of crouch-walking through the vent, the vent was suddenly split in two by a cave which was caked in darkness. One of Harry's own WSF agents remarked aloud, "I don't like this. It feels... like we're being watched."
"I know. Still, we've got to get into the base and see what's going on in there." Harry pointed out. He then pointed his wand in the direction of the cave and whispered, "Lumos Maxima" which caused them to come face to face with the unexpected occupants of the cave. The cave was filled with all kinds of monstrosities such as green skinned carnivorous giant clams, reptilian lion-like creatures that had acid for saliva and spider-like alligators that could split ice cold sludge and possessed a pair of claw-like mandibles for hunting prey. "I can see why they built this place in the middle of nowhere. Yet, I think that these are the outer defences. What we're looking for is in there." Harry said, pointing his wand at a heavy looking metal door on the other side of the cave. He aimed his wand at the cave's monstrosities and then cast a variation of the petrification curse, "Petrificus Totalus Tria." All the creatures in the cave then froze still, unable to react and unable to make any sounds. With the immediate threat removed, Harry and his team crossed over to the other side of the cave and entered the facility proper.
"This place is giving me serious horror movie vibes. I'm not liking it." Another one of the WSF agents said with trepidation as they entered a dark and grimy corridor that seemed to have a kind of fungus growing on the metal walls. The corridor also had exposed wiring and badly maintained pipes that would occasionally vent steam or leak water.
"I know Jackman. This corridor makes it look like we're in Alien... and that is one movie where no one would want to be the crew members in case they got killed." Harry replied. "We should move before any guards show up."
Harry and his team quickly and quietly reached the end of the corridor and opened the door leading to the next one. This corridor was much better maintained than the one that they had just come from as it was far less gloomy and there was no fungus, exposed wiring or leaking pipes. "Is this a prisoner holding block? It seems like one but there are no signs of life in the corridor." The WSF agent known as Jackman asked. Indeed, there were many holding cells with no occupants inside them.
One of the Chaos agents analysed the cells and began chanting in a dead language. His eyes glowed briefly and then he frowned as his eyes returned to normal. "Hmm?"
"What is it Ba'koel?" Harry asked, worry starting to creep into his voice.
"The sight of the gods has shown me that all the prisoners that were in those cells belong to timelines that no longer exist. They could have come from a past that no longer happened or a future that will never happen but the people in those cells shouldn't have been there." Ba'koel explained to Harry as he continued scanning the room with his eyes.
"We need to find their laboratories. I think that the answers to our questions will be there." Harry said authoritatively. The team then cautiously moved out of the prison corridor and continued their search for the lab.
After hours of searching, they found a laboratory. It was filled with many different tubes of varying sizes. "Look at these tubes, this could be what we're looking for. Let's see now..." Harry looked at the writing on the tubes, "Look at the sequencing here everyone. X zero one, X zero two..."
A female WSF agent called Amanda continued calling out the names of the tubes, "...X zero three, X zero four, X zero five... X zero six. What's going on here boss?"
"I suggest that we remove the covers of these tubes and find out." Harry proceeded to do so, banishing the covers of the first five tubes with his wand. The sight of what was in the tubes immediately horrified Harry and his team although Harry was simultaneously showing intense curiosity. "Look here, the first one is just a human embryo but you can see the next one is a lot more animalistic. And do you see, the next two? They've been developed further so they're the size of a baby and young child respectively and they've been made more animalistic and there are growths altering the body even further. And number five is even more developed than them. It looks like the size of person in their late teens although there's barely any humanity visible in this one."
"So... X zero six?" Amanda softly asked, her voice full of nervousness. The other members of the team watched on in cautious anticipation as Harry carefully removed the cover of X zero six. "What the fuck! What the fucking hell is that?!" Amanda shouted out in shock as she saw the barely alive creature connected to a bundle of tubes and wires. It had an elongated head, a long, spiked tail and claw-like hands with skin like charcoal.
"X zero six... Xenomorph Zero six. The first five specimens weren't viable but the scientists here have been attempting to create real life Xenomorphs. I think that they've been using the prisoners here to provide themselves a healthy supply of test subjects." Harry realised immediately. "They're converting humans and other living beings into Xenomorphs!"
"This is remarkable. The entire lab's research data; don't mind if I take this." A female Empire agent said to herself with some happiness as she looked through an unlocked computer. She inserted a high capacity memory stick into the computer and began copying the files contained within it.
"Olga, what are you doing?" Harry asked in concern. He wasn't sure what to worry about more; her or the experiments being undertaken in the base. He knew that Olga had come with a hidden agenda and he was concerned that it would become her downfall.
"Downloading the information so I can take the information to Imperial Scientific Intelligence. They're going to want to develop a weapon to use against Samgon and what better weapon is there than one of his own?" Olga replied to Harry with a confidence bordering on arrogance.
"You do know what this 'weapon' can do, right? It will destroy entire nations before it will give you a chance to use it. We should destroy it here and now and any information regarding it." Harry responded with a righteous anger not seen by people in a long time.
"Now listen here Harry. The information gathered here today could be the difference between victory and defeat in the war..." Olga argued back but before either of them could continue the argument, they were interrupted by an unwelcome intruder.
"Halt! Do Not Move!" A previously unnoticed Orc guard demanded of Harry and his team. More Orcs and Goblins filed into the laboratory and surrounded them.
"Oh shit!" Harry remarked aloud as he sensed that their current situation was looking grim.
Earlier, Secret Outer Heaven science facility
Orc scientists were busy working on their new weapon. They had been using prisoners captured from redundant timelines to help with their experiments. Their research was considered absolutely top secret, hence the facility's location in an isolated and desolate area of the Badlands.
Inside one of the facility's laboratories, a group of Outer Heaven scientists discussed the progress of what they called the 'X Zero project' and the importance of their work. The scientists wore light armour coloured in silver and blue and blue or white overcoats. "The X zero project continues to develop well. We have a steady supply of test subjects to further develop the project." One scientist reported to the Lead Scientist.
"Good. Their appearance is beautiful and primal. I expect good things to come from the use of these living weapons." The Lead Scientist replied with a deep rich voice.
Another scientist gave his report, "Prisoner project DW dash B one is continuing to provide us with valuable test subjects, guards and valuable data. It is remarkable that he has survived this long in our custody and after the death of his timeline."
"Excellent. He is a valuable asset and can provide us with excellent information regarding the future. He is not to be used in the X project in any circumstance." The Lead Scientist replied, firmly stamping his authority on his underlings.
The facility's chief of security interjected hesitantly but resolutely, "He has provided no information to us during our interrogations of him. He is resistant to our interrogation methods. We can try something else but I do not know what will break his will." He moved his hands like he had the jitters. The Chief of Security wore somewhat heavier armour than the scientists and wore an Outer Heaven army uniform which resembled the uniforms of the German Army from both world wars and had a large pauldron covering his left shoulder and wore an electronic gadget resembling a smart watch that functioned as a personalized alert system on his wrist.
"Maybe his will has been broken already and you just can't see it?" The Lead Scientist theorised to the Chief of Security. The Chief of Security played with a pen whilst the Lead Scientist spoke.
"His selection of weapons has our weapons analysts fascinated. When he arrived in our custody, he arrived with a sword, a grappling gun, a couple of smoke bombs and some bat-shaped throwing weapons." The Chief of Security informed the Lead Scientist before adding an informal request, "We would like to see his combat capabilities in more depth as he was not in a fit state when we captured him."
"The request is approved. However, owing to his current state, he will need time, food, water and exercise before he can demonstrate his combat abilities. I would also like him to test the combat capabilities of the X project." The Lead Scientist replied in agreement but demanded some additional tests be carried out to the Chief of Security's chagrin.
Suddenly, a beeping noise was heard on the Chief of Security's electronic alert system. He frowned at the device and communicated into the facility's communication systems. "All security units, investigate the cave defence barrier, corridors and laboratories in section thirty seven X. The silent alarm has been triggered. Do not overreact and report back if anything suspicious is detected."
The Lead Scientist started to look very worried. The other scientists in the facility adopted grim looks as they too became very worried. Turning to the Chief of Security, the Lead Scientist gave the Orc a command that would not normally be given when a facility such as this one came under attack. "Do not kill the prisoners; I want them brought before me. We must make sure that they have not sent any communications to outsiders." The Chief of Security gave the Lead Scientist a withering look, questioning his orders but as the Lead Scientist was his commander, he obeyed his orders and gave the relevant instructions to his men.
In the area the Chief of Security directed them to, Greenskin guards cautiously but calmly searched the corridors and the near empty laboratories. One squad of Outer Heaven guards went into the lethal cave area and discovered the monsters used to help defend the cave were frozen. They checked for any sign of physical attack causing the freezing and ruled it out, concluding that their defensive monsters were frozen by magical attacks.
Another squad gradually and carefully checked out the various laboratories in that section. Most looked undisturbed and were checked within an hour. Upon coming to the laboratory containing the early X project test subjects, they spotted the intruders and summoned for reinforcements as they saw an especially unwelcome individual.
"Harry Potter has been sighted among the intruders: requesting reinforcements for his capture." The Orc in charge of that squad asked discreetly into his radio.
"Request approved. Wait for reinforcements to arrive before apprehending Potter." The Chief of Security replied with some urgency. Within minutes, almost a dozen squads of Greenskin guards assembled at the multiple entrances to the laboratory containing Harry. The Orc leader who discovered the presence of Harry Potter and the other intruders wielded an MP 40 submachine gun and discreetly entered the laboratory by himself.
He concentrated on his prey who were still unaware of his presence in the room. He didn't pay too much attention to what they were saying as they were discussing scientific research and anything to do with science went right over his head. Crouch-walking through the laboratory, he noticed Harry and some human woman wearing infiltration gear with symbols of Sigmar on them having an argument about the research. It was clear that they disagreed with how to handle the research, with Harry appearing to want to destroy all the research in the base while the woman wanted to take it back to the Empire and use it against Samgon. Growing bored of their argument and noticing that his brother Greenskins were growing more agitated, he decided to interrupt them while they were distracted, "Halt! Do Not Move!"
The Orc squad leader was smiling to himself as he saw that the entire enemy team, including Harry Potter were completely surprised, especially as they were too distracted by what they had found. It was very tempting for him to pull the trigger and eliminate the greatest threat to Outer Heaven but that was not his mission. Instead, he calmly watched Harry and his team as the other squads of Greenskin guards rapidly surrounded them with no hope of escape. "Put down your arms and come with us." He ordered Harry and his team and, despite some vicious growling from some of the Chaos agents, they had no choice but to comply with the order.
Present Time, Outer Heaven Scientific facility
Harry and his team were swiftly disarmed by the guards and were taken to the facility's leaders who were in a much larger room. Harry was curious as to why this was the case as in most cases, Greenskins would either kill any intruders or would transfer them to the SG, which was Samgon's private elite army but this did not happen. He thought that something else was going on that they hadn't picked up on at first.
"Something odd is going on here." Harry whispered confusedly.
"I know. They haven't killed us yet." Amanda whispered worriedly, thinking that something worse than death was going to happen to them.
"Maybe they want to test their new monsters on us?" Olga suggested with a sarcastic tone.
"I think that if they wanted us dead, they would've done the job already. No, I think that they have an ulterior motive for keeping us alive at the moment." Harry replied.
"You're right, Potter. Something is going on here. I would almost say that they're terrified." Ba'koel replied in agreement with Harry after having cast a brief spell allowing him to see the guards' and scientists' mental states for a few moments.
"I think we're about to find out." Harry said to his team as the facility's Lead Scientist and Chief of Security moved to address them after speaking in hushed tones with each other.
"You are all to be executed for your espionage acts here. However..." The Chief of Security began aggressively before the Lead Scientist took over.
"What have you told Allied High Command? What have you told them about our research?"
Harry looked at the Lead Scientist confused. He wondered why they were concerned about what information they had sent, of which they had sent none. "What makes you think that we've been able to contact them yet? Your comrades have been jamming all transmissions in the area."
"You Lie! You are a wizard, Harry Potter and your magic would be able to send knowledge of our activities." The Lead Scientist pressed adamantly, refusing to believe Harry. "My name is of no concern to you; How you die is."
"I don't know what's going on inside your paranoid heads here but we were discussing what do with the research we've discovered." Harry retorted. He was now convinced they were hiding their research, perhaps even from Outer Heaven High Command.
The Chief of Security marched up to Harry and stood over him like an arrogant giant. He smiled at Harry and eyed up the pens that were poking out of Harry's pocket. "Those are some nice pens." He said to Harry, who simply looked back at him with a furious stare. He then took the pens out of Harry's pocket, "I hope you don't mind if I keep these. I am fascinated by these human inventions and I have a small but growing collection of them in my quarters." He then clicked the pens, giving a grin of satisfaction.
Harry stared at both the Chief of Security and the Lead Scientist and realised at last what was going on at the facility. He noticed that they seemed less afraid of them than they were of what was going on outside. "Samgon and the rest of Outer Heaven High Command don't know about what's going on here, do they?" Harry said with some satisfaction as the Greenskins in the room grimaced and shuddered.
"What?!" Olga asked in shock. She had thought just like everyone else in Harry's team that the scientific facilities in the base were operating on Samgon's orders and found it hard to believe that they acting without the knowledge of their Emperor.
"That's why they're very insistent on knowing about whether we've sent a message or not." Harry explained to Olga. He then looked back at the Chief of Security and asked him with an almost predatory smile, "How are you liking the pens so far?"
The Chief of Security looked at the pens in his hands and his eyes widened as he saw the threat they posed. He threw them away and barely a second or two later, they exploded with one producing intense amounts of smoke and the other producing an almighty explosion. The explosion killed almost a dozen Greenskin guards and, combined with the smoke, allowed Harry and his team to escape immediate execution. However, as they escaped the wrath of the Lead Scientist and the Chief of Security and recovered their weapons and, in Harry's case, wand, they came under fire from guards who had recovered from the explosion and smoke and they slew a couple of members of Harry's team, shooting them in the back. Harry was helpless as they were pursued into a nearby lift; he could only clear the way forward as patrolling guards coalesced in the corridors in an effort to kill them. Some shots hit the lift doors as they closed but the rest of Harry's team were safe in the lift.
The Chief of Security, having recovered his senses and now standing back up, marched over to the lift and stared at the display showing what level the lift was on. "Stop their escape! They are to be executed!" he ordered the guards.
"Escape is not their plan!" The Lead Scientist told them knowingly as he walked up behind the Chief of Security. "They know what we don't want to happen; we must stop them!" He then turned to the Chief of Security and spoke more angrily to him, "Shut down the communications network, IMMEDIATELY!"
Harry took his team down to one of the lower levels, hoping to find some form of communications system before they shut them down. He believed that the communications controls would be on one of the lower levels in case of heavy attack on the upper levels. As the lift doors opened, alert patrolling Greenskins turned and fired at Harry and his team, only to be killed when they fired back. Harry and his team fanned out and were looking down three corridors, unsure of where they would need to go. "Right, let's find the communications room and light up the fireworks." He first pointed to the right corridor, "Jackman, you and Ba'koel go right, don't fight unless you need to." He then turned to Olga but she had already started going down the corridor to the left, "Olga? Goddammit... Arkoss, Germaint, go after her and make sure she doesn't get herself in trouble."
"Right, boss." replied Arkoss and Germaint simultaneously. The Chaos and Empire agent then ran after Olga, who had gone far down the corridor and was almost out of sight.
"I'll be surprised if she doesn't get herself killed." Harry remarked aloud. He then turned to Amanda and the remaining members of his team, "Right, let's go down the corridor here and see what we find."
"Let's hope we find what we're looking for." Amanda said with a worried voice as the group moved down the corridor, wary of the threats that were hunting them or lurking in unseen areas of the facility.
Jackman and Ba'koel
Jackman and Ba'koel cautiously moved down their assigned corridor and would cover each other as they moved up. They were on edge; no greenskins were anywhere to be seen. The corridor was brightly lit but the white paint was clearly greying.
"I'm not liking this. It's too quiet." Jackman said anxiously.
"We're being hunted. They won't want to make unnecessary noise." Ba'koel told his WSF counterpart.
"At least their new monster isn't ready yet." Jackman said a bit more confidently.
"Don't be so sure. We just saw the initial test subjects; they could've made more progress since those test subjects." Ba'koel said cautiously.
They moved further down the corridor and eventually reached a locked door which formed a dead end. Unable to see any other way forward, Ba'koel once again chanted in a dead language. Jackman was unsure of what that would do until the door buckled and warped until it eventually was ripped open. They moved into the room that the door was protecting and they were greeted by an abominable sight. "For the love of god!"
It turned out they were on a balcony and from the balcony, they witnessed a number of metal pits writhing with living beings. The pits contained the facilities new Xenomorph weapons. They were being tortured to make them more angry and more feral. The scientists and guards roamed above the creatures as they sought to remove the last vestiges of their humanity.
"They're monsters!" Jackman said to Ba'koel in horror.
"I'd hope that someone comes to shut this down. All traces of this project need to be eliminated." Ba'koel replied.
A few moments later, they heard the shuffling of boots marching down the corridor. Greenskin guards were marching down the corridor and they were armed to the teeth with rifles, submachine guns and grenades. With no way out, Jackman and Ba'koel crouched down and fired on the oncoming Greenskin guards. The guards, upon being fired on, took cover and glanced past the wrecked door to see where the intruders were but did not fire back.
"Why aren't they firing back? Ba'koel... Ba'koel?" Jackman asked his comrade before looking at him. Ba'koel was being held in the air by an Orc Xenomorph tail. The Orc Xenomorph stared at Jackman with a predatory scowl although Jackman wasn't sure how else to describe its facial expression.
"Run..." Ba'koel said quietly before coughing up blood and calling out louder, "...RUN!"
Jackman staggered to his feet and ran into the corridor despite the fact that there were dozens of Greenskins still in the corridor. He attempted to run past them but they blocked his path and kept pushing him back. He began shooting at them until he saw a group of scientists behind the guards. They were smiling and Jackman feared the worst. His fear was confirmed a moment later when he was tackled to the floor and was dragged back down the corridor by the Greenskin-created Xenomorph. "Oh, you are an ugly motherfucker!" He said to the beast as it drooled over him. He discreetly pulled a couple of explosives from his uniform and activated them. The Orc Xenomorph opened its mouth to unveil its second mouth and prepared to kill him with it. "Life is hell anyway." Jackman said in anticipation of his death. The Orc-made Xenomorph brought his head closer to its head and, like a piston, created a hole in Jackman's head somewhat bigger than a .50 cal bullet. A second later, the explosives Jackman activated finally exploded and consumed his body and the monster.
The Outer Heaven scientists' smiles disappeared on seeing that their creation was not as perfect as they thought it was.
Olga
Olga moved through the corridor with single-minded purpose. She was determined to find out about the secrets of this facility. She noted that some rooms she passed were seemingly more hazardous than others as epitomised by exposed panels of wiring or fierce fumes of steam coming out of broken pipes and vents in some rooms and other rooms that looked well maintained. Eventually, she came across a room with noises coming from within it. Deciding to see what the noises were, she opened the door and entered the room.
"Well, this is very characteristic of Samgon's Outer Heaven." Olga remarked to herself sarcastically. In the room was part of a production line, where human infants were being injected with chemicals and bombarded by magical torture. Further on in the production line, the effects of the chemicals and magical torture were becoming evident as the biology of the human infant changed as it grew older.
Olga was then joined by Arkoss and Germaint in the room. "You shouldn't have run away like that, ma'am. It's too dangerous to be going off like that." Arkoss said to Olga.
"Don't you worry about me; I always carry a concealed firearm on me at all times." Olga replied, showing off a small but powerful pistol. She then proceeded to download many files from a nearby computer, inserting a memory stick into it. She was confident that the information would be of use to her superiors.
Just then they came under attack from squads of Greenskin guards and Olga hastily finished the download. Olga then removed the memory stick and snuck around the commotion. "Arkoss, Germaint, you've been very good soldiers." She called to them and to their utter disbelief, she abandoned them to their fate.
"Olga, you complete and utter coward. You'll get the fate you deserve soon enough... Oof!" Arkoss said to the retreating woman before he was shot. The only sound he made was that of feeling the impact of the shots that killed him before he fell to the floor, dead. Germaint gave an evil stare to Olga as she retreated before he too was overwhelmed and shot dead; his face blown off by a powerful shotgun shell round.
Olga fled from the 'factory' and evaded the multitude of guards patrolling the corridors in increasing numbers. She failed to notice the Lead Scientist and the Chief of Security following her from a discreet distance, quietly issuing orders into their handheld radios.
Harry and Amanda
Harry, Amanda and their group moved rapidly and cautiously down the last unexplored corridor, wary of any threats that they might encounter. Unexpectedly, they encountered no resistance and eventually came across a dead end marked by two doors. Harry split the group into two with Harry leading two agents and Amanda leading two agents and the two mini groups went into the rooms.
Harry and his two agents found the communications room and immediately began sending word of what was happening to the WSF and anyone else listening to radio signals. Harry hoped that Samgon and Outer Heaven high command would put an end to the madness once they received word of what was happening. If they didn't end it, the world was sure to end in a form of apocalypse.
"Harry? You should come and see this!" Amanda called from the other room. She sounded like there was a sense of urgency and distress in her voice. Harry nodded silently to the two agents following him and left to speak with Amanda whilst they guarded the communications room.
Harry entered the room and walked up next to Amanda. He did not pay attention to his surroundings. "What's going in here, Amanda?" Harry asked her somewhat impatiently.
"There's something really fucked up going on in this room, Boss." Amanda said to Harry before pointing up, "He might be able to give us more information." Up near the ceiling, there was a young man suspended in the air by futuristic looking restraints which were connected to heavy looking cables and chains. He looked ragged, tired and worn out and was only wearing the top of what appeared to be a uniform with some sort of Domino mask on his face. On a conveyor belt in front of him, were many women of varying races being held in place by restraints bolted onto the belt and all of whom were very much naked. The young man was being forced to have sex with the many women with the assistance of automated machinery and was clearly experiencing discomfort and shame.
"Okay, that is fucked up..." Harry said as he looked at where Amanda was pointing, "...And I've seen Outer Heaven's practices for getting more troops in person. I wonder why this feels worse than that?" Harry transfigured a a nearby empty metal barrel into a long rope and grappling hook and threw it up to the conveyor belt. It managed to snag itself on a hook hold and Harry tested its grip by tugging on it several times. It held and Harry proceeded to climb up the rope despite getting rope burn the further and harder he went. After reaching the conveyor belt, Harry struggled to climb onto it and it was continuing to move in a stuttering fashion which made Harry unbalanced as he attempted to stand up. He went to the young man and looked at him. He then looked at the women and was more concerned about them, judging the young man to be very resilient and in no immediate danger. "I'm going to free these women first and then I will free you. Okay?"
Harry moved to free the female prisoners and the young man attempted to speak to him, "I...I...I woul..." His voice was too hoarse and rusty from disuse for Harry to hear though. Harry freed one of the female prisoners and was immediately attacked by her. Her mind had long since gone, having become warped, feral and animalistic because of the torture and drugs given to her. She attempted to force herself on Harry, tackling him and tugging at the belt of his uniform and Harry was forced to kick her off him. Refusing to accept Harry's refusal to have sex with her, she shakily got to her feet and charged at Harry in another attempt to force herself on him. Harry saw the attack coming and ducked down. The feral woman, unable to stop her charge, tripped over Harry and another woman before falling down to the floor, snapping her neck on some piece of machinery on the way down and she died almost instantly.
"Jesus Christ!!!" Amanda shouted. She looked queasy at the sight of the broken woman and was unable to stop herself from vomiting. After cleaning up any vomit that still resided around her mouth, she called up to Harry, "What the fuck is going on up there?"
"It's already turning into an absolute mess up here Amanda. I don't think we'll be able to free any of the women here; they've all become insane. Let's focus on the young man up here and then focus on finding a way out." Harry said to Amanda and he went to back to the young man who was once again being made to have sex with another restrained feral woman. Harry stunned the woman and was shocked when his stunning spell caused a long, drawn out squirting orgasm. "What the hell! The more I see, the more I think that Samgon at his worst was never as bad as this." Harry remarked to himself aloud. He then destroyed the automated machinery forcing the young man to have sex and then began freeing him from his considerable restraints. As soon as the final restraint was undone, Harry caught the young man in his arms and then proceeded to descend to the floor with him, carefully rappelling down the transfigured rope and grappling hook.
The young man looked at Harry as soon as they reached the ground and gave a small smile, "Harry, it's you! I thought I was the only one who survived!" Harry looked at the young man with a look of massive confusion. "You do remember me, don't you?" the young man asked Harry with a growing sense of realisation. Harry continued to look at the young man in confusion and the penny finally dropped for the young man. "I think I understand what's happening. Time travel is a nightmare, isn't it?"
"I'm going to assume that it's a case of you've met me before but I haven't met you, right?" Harry asked the young man who nodded back.
"Yeah, that's correct." the young man replied. "Well, seeing as you don't know me, my name is Damian."
"Nice to meet you, Damian. Now, can you tell me what happened to you and what's going on in here?" Harry replied with a sense of urgency.
Damian suddenly had a sad look plastered over his face, "I don't know where to begin; there's so much. Before I got here, I was at Hogwarts with you, my friends and family and my wife and there was a great titanic war being fought over the castle..."
"The war against Samgon? I don't need the details." Harry pondered and Damian shook his head.
"While we were at war against Samgon, that's not the war I was referring to. No, it was a war between Samgon and a god-like being from my home reality and everyone else was caught in the middle. Everyone I knew was killed at the hands of either Samgon or the other god but I survived, having been sent back in time through a portal." Damian took a moment to compose himself before he shifted subjects, "When I woke up, I was a prisoner in this place. They conducted experiments on me and, as you saw, made me have sex with those long insane women. I can tell you some things but you may have to fill in the gaps for me. While I've been here, they were speaking about how all the other prisoners had gone insane. They were also talking about the spawn used for some X project and also a secret army."
"Well this day just gets more fucked up as the day goes by." Harry remarked to himself before turning to Damian, "They're using subjects from destroyed timelines and your own 'children' to breed an army of monsters. The women here are also from destroyed timelines and that could be a cause as to why they're insane."
"They're no children of mine but even I would not like them to suffer this fate." Damian replied in a short-tempered tone.
"Damian, let's get out of here." Harry said after looking around for a moment. Harry grabbed the young man some black trousers, which he assumed belonged to him. There were also a number of weapons with the trousers. "I assume that these belong to you?"
"Yeah, they do." The young man replied. Damian gingerly put on his trousers and equipped his weapons. He took a few moments to shake his limbs as he was experiencing a severe case of pins and needles and then joined Harry and Amanda and their group. "What's our next move?"
"We're getting the fuck out of here!" Amanda said to the young man before turning to Harry, "Have we sent a message out yet?"
Harry looked around warily as he replied to Amanda, "Yeah, we have. Hopefully, Samgon should be sending units here and put an end to this."
Damian interrupted them, "I've heard that Lead Scientist and the Chief of Security talking with each other. Apparently, they want to present their project to Samgon as some kind of present for him to use at his discretion."
"Well hopefully, we will find out if Samgon will like his 'present' and what he will do with it." Harry replied to Damian.
"Harry... we need to get out of here now!" Olga called from far down the corridor as the sound of her running echoed down the corridor grew closer and closer.
Harry, Amanda, Damian and the other agents including those in the commutations room ran into the corridor and saw Olga running towards them. She was being pursued by the Lead Scientist, the Chief of Security and dozens of guards lead by a squad of more heavily armed and armoured guards, all of whom were refraining from opening fire. As Olga ran past a vent, the vent cover flew off the vent and struck Olga in the leg, causing her to trip and fall to the floor. A trio of Orc-made Xenomorphs emerged from the vent and prowled around Olga. She withdrew her pistol and shot one of the creatures down with her pistol but she ran out of ammunition before she could shoot at either of the other monstrosities. Harry, Amanda, Damian and the rest of the group readied their various weapons and aimed as the monsters circled Olga like vultures. Olga called out to Harry and the rest of the team in panic as she threw a memory stick towards them, "Take this gets back to Imperial Scientific Intelligence! Make sure that they are able to use the information on it!"
Harry looked at Olga with a mix of pity and anger; pity because he knew what was about to happen to her and anger because of her request. "Oh Olga... I'm so sorry but... you know that the information contained on that stick has to be destroyed. I can't let anyone else try to make their own Xenomorphs." He aimed his wand at the memory stick and sent a multitude of spells and curses at it, destroying the memory stick beyond repair.
Olga looked at Harry furiously and even though she was facing a death worse than most, her thoughts were largely on him and his actions. "You lack the stomach to do what needs to be done Harry! Rest assured; Imperial Scientific Intelligence will find out about what happened here and they will send people after you! You will be hunted like a dog!"
"I've been a dog for a long time now; those who you say will come after me will be less than dogs then!" Harry retorted, almost spitefully. Harry watched on as the Orc-made Xenomorphs dragged Olga into the vent shaft, never to be seen again.
"What were those things?" Damian asked, shocked.
"I would say that they are your children, although I wouldn't know if it was one made from your spawn or one created from one of the other subjects." The Lead Scientist called to Damian, also addressing Harry and the surviving members of his team.
"It's too late to stop us! We've sent out a message now and your comrades should be coming to see what's going on here!" Harry shouted defiantly to the Lead Scientist and Chief of Security.
"Oh Harry Potter, we don't care about that now. We're looking forward to turning you eight into our playthings before everything ends." The Chief of Security boasted to the legendary hero.
Harry frowned and looked at his team. He counted seven people. "You must be blind because I'm only counting seven of us!"
"Hahahahehe... then none of you are using your senses to their full potential. Our superior senses tell us that the remaining female amongst yourselves is approximately three weeks pregnant." The Lead Scientist cackled with a creepy smile on his face. The Lead Scientist then began snarling at Amanda and began to unnerve her, never ceasing to smile as he spoke, "You will be our favourite plaything and your spawn will become one of our boyz."
"You won't harm anyone else! Your actions here have already caused enough harm!" Damian said defiantly as he took a step in front of Amanda, intending to protect her.
"You'll find Damian that we can and will do more." The Chief of Security said to the young man. The guards then shot dead the agents accompanying Harry, Amanda and Damian and Harry looked enraged.
"Was that really necessary?! You've got us trapped in this accursed facility and you're threatening to make us your latest test subjects for your monsters." Harry shouted at the Chief of Security.
"Don't call them monsters; humans are monsters. No, these are things of beauty; my perfect organism." The Lead Scientist angrily replied to Harry.
"All actions in the base will cease! The Emperor wants answers immediately!" A voice on the facility's communications network demanded. Outer Heaven units had finally arrived at the facility and were quickly setting up a perimeter.
The Lead Scientist and the Chief of Security went to a nearby communications installation and began to respond to the outside interference. "Ah, commander; does the Emperor wish to inspect the facility personally? We are more than willing to host him." the Lead Scientist said to the Commander of the Outer Heaven units outside the base.
"He probably would love to inspect your facility if he was anywhere near here. Unfortunately, he has been shot down near the continent of New Plympto by Clone V-Wing fighters and TIE interceptors."
"So he will not be joining us then?" the Lead Scientist questioned the Commander.
"Not in person but he has restored communications with the rest of our empire and he wishes to speak with you all." The Commander replied before falling silent.
A moment of silence reigned and then a voice familiar to most people there came through the facility's communications network, "What the fuck has been going on there? I'm not in a good situation where I am at the moment and yet I feel as though all of you there should be more worried about what's going to happen to you." Samgon sounded furious and it was unclear at that moment who he was more furious at. In the background, where Samgon was, loud gunfire could be heard breaking out along with the shouts, calls and cries of Greenskins, Clones, Stormtroopers, Battle Droids and Guerilla fighters who were fighting and dying around Samgon.
"My Emperor, would we be permitted to send you samples of our research findings? We are positive that you will find our research... beneficial to the war effort." The Lead Scientist pleaded with Samgon and for a few more moments, silence reigned except for the background noise of gunfire from where Samgon was located. Also in the background of the communications network call was the murmurings of the various members of Outer Heaven high command monitoring the situations at the facility and of Samgon at New Plympto, issuing orders for warships and various divisions to be sent to assist in the rescuing of Samgon and sending additional reinforcements to the facility.
"You may send me your research." Samgon replied concisely.
"Thank you, our Emperor!" the Chief of Security said to Samgon with gratitude.
"Send the research finding samples to the Emperor." The Lead Scientist ordered one of the other scientists through the communications network. Wordlessly, one of the Greenskin scientists carried out the Lead Scientist's instructions and sent Samgon a digital copy of some of the research data.
"Hmm... this research is interesting." Samgon said, sounding curious about what had been sent to him. Harry grew worried about Samgon's reaction; he began to believe that his predictions about what would happen were entirely incorrect. "Send over the rest of your research data." Samgon ordered, heightening Harry's sense of worry and dread. The Lead Scientist and the Chief of Security looked like their dreams had come true and were all too eager to fulfill Samgon's request. After a few moments, the Lead Scientist and the Chief of Security were getting very excitable, especially at the prospect of being able to continue their experiments and having a free hand to do what they wanted with their potential and former captives. Their joy was soon exterminated though by what Samgon said next and caused Harry to feel some smugness. "This research data will be buried in the most darkest of vaults and locked away unless there is no choice but to use it. Lead Scientist, I am alarmed by your activities. I ordered no such project to take place and your test subjects have been acquired by unauthorized means."
The Lead Scientist tried to protest, "But, my Emperor, the research works. We have been able to prove that the creatures work."
The Chief of Security backed up the Lead Scientist and tried to sell the project to Samgon, "With respect, Emperor but our project here has the potential to wipe out our enemies in either attack or defense. Outer Heaven lives do not need to be risked anymore."
Samgon, despite the carnage being heard around him, was having none of what they were saying, "If I wanted to rule over a graveyard, I would happily allow your project to continue but I don't want an Outer Heaven of the dead. Instead, I want there to be people in our people's empire; that is why I am giving you a choice."
"What are our options, Emperor?" the Lead Scientist asked Samgon with trepidation.
"Your options are as follows. Option A requires you to let Harry and the surviving members of his team go and whatever prisoners he has managed to free as well as shutting down your experiments with this... Xenomorph project and destroy all traces of it..." Samgon said.
"I didn't know that Samgon knew that I was here. This is a different Samgon to the ones I have met." Damian remarked quietly to Harry as Samgon gave the facility's personnel an ultimatum.
"He probably doesn't. I think that he just knows what I have done; he won't know your identity." Harry replied equally quietly.
"What is our other option, our Emperor?" the Lead Scientist asked Samgon over the communications network.
"You can continue with your Xenomorph project but you will all be labelled traitors to Outer Heaven and the units outside the facility will be sent to destroy it and almost everything in it. They are also tasked with getting Harry and the surviving members of his team out of your clutches." Samgon replied rather angrily.
"So our choices are destroy our work or have everything, including ourselves, be destroyed?" the Lead Scientist asked Samgon, sounding increasingly despondent at the situation and looking at Harry with the fury of a horde of angry lions.
"Correct!" Samgon replied, sounding more angrier as the minutes passed.
The Chief of Security looked at the Lead Scientist, who nodded at him, and spoke to Samgon defiantly, "Well in that case, we're traitors. Do not intrude, we're very well prepared."
"Don't be foolish; the Commander outside your facility has instructions to not just scour the facility of your presence but to destroy every single level and leave it as a set of ruins." Samgon replied in an effort to get them to see reason.
"You are weak, Emperor; you do not see the future of this war. We declare our independence from your rule." the Chief of Security said to the Orc Emperor aggressively.
Samgon could be heard breathing heavily in complete and utter fury. Everyone else present listening to the Chief of Security looked at him, stunned and utterly shocked. After what seemed a lifetime, Samgon spoke again and sealed the fates of the facility's many, many occupants, "Commander... you may attack when ready. Harry... please cause all the destruction you can before you escape from there."
"No problem." Harry remarked wryly before asking Samgon about afterwards, "I assume that after we escape from here, we'll be allowed to return to our own territory without interference?"
"Of course. Commander, when Harry emerges from there, you are to provide him and anyone else with him with an escort to the coast." Samgon said promptly and firmly.
The Commander's response was clearly heard by everyone in the facility, much to the joy of Samgon, Amanda and Damian and the anger and horror of the Lead Scientist, the Chief of Security and their followers. "I obey, my Emperor!"
Suddenly, multiple loud bangs were heard throughout the base, causing confusion among the facility's personnel and the Orc-made Xenomorphs to go into a form of frenzy. "What is happening?" the Chief of Security asked his subordinates urgently.
"They're bombarding us with heavy artillery fire; they have not scratched our defences yet." one of the guards replied after receiving information through his comms system.
Harry began chuckling to the annoyance and confusion of the Lead Scientist and the Chief of Security. "What is so amusing? They will kill you too!" The Lead Scientist asked sharply.
Harry then proceeded to lecture them like the military amateurs they were, "I take it there are observation posts around here, right?" The Lead Scientist and the Chief of Security nodded uneasily. "Then, if any of you knew your military tactics, then you would know that they're not smashing their way in yet but they are preventing you from seeing their movements." Harry then gave a little laugh before continuing to talk, "They're not even using proper artillery! If you listen really closely, then you'd be able to tell they're using rocket artillery to destroy your observation equipment. They'll be using the main artillery later."
"No matter, we have many warriors in our ranks here!" the Chief of Security said to Harry defiantly.
"You mean those... creations? They're not exactly the warrior type and your guards aren't exactly outnumbering Samgon's." Damian replied pointedly.
"The Xenomorphs aren't the only thing we made with your... assistance." The Lead Scientist then revealed to Harry, Damian and Amanda's shock and confusion.
"What?" Damian asked disbelievingly.
"We have built ourselves a pretty neat army here. Whatever children of yours weren't used for our glorious creations were infused with a tiny amount of Greenskin DNA. They are now part of our army!" The Lead Scientist said with an arrogance that Harry thought was unwarranted, especially given the fact that Samgon ordered the facility destroyed.
Harry looked at the Lead Scientist with a sense of disbelief. "An army!? You might have the numbers for a small army but they won't have the training and experience of an army. You have lost!"
Just as the anger of the Lead Scientist grew from listening to Harry, he, along with the Chief of Security and others, then became distracted by multiple explosions. The distraction gave Harry, Amanda and Damian just enough time to quickly climb into the vent shaft and elude the Lead Scientist and his Greenskins. Upon realising that the trio of humans had escaped, the Lead Scientist scowled and several security guards and scientists were forced to cower in fear as they feared what the Lead Scientist might do. "Prevent any and all break ins, IMMEDIATELY!" The Lead Scientist barked and the Chief of Security nodded to his subordinates to confirm the order.
In the vent shaft, Harry, Amanda and Damian climbed through the resin-like drool covered shafts, knowing that very much dangerous threats remained all around them. "This base is going to be in flames very soon; we cannot afford to let our guards down. Remember, if you see one of those monsters, don't hesitate to destroy it." After several more minutes of climbing and crawling, Harry's radio began cackling to life as some unknown person made contact with Harry. "Hello? Ron? Mum?" Harry asked into his radio.
For about a minute, nothing but static reigned until the person on the other end of the radio finally began speaking, "Well... it's not often that I'm called Mum. Most of my children call me Dad or Father and the last time I checked I didn't see anything saying that I gave birth to you."
"Samgon?! I would have thought that you would be busy with surviving on New Plympto." Harry replied with a slight hint of sarcasm.
"When the enemy still has amateurish generals in charge, it means that I can dictate the nature of the fight. Anyway, I called to let you know that I am sensing that the traitors are about to lose control of their new weapon. You need to get out of there, fast!" Samgon informed Harry.
"I intend to. I plan on getting all three of us out of here." Harry told him firmly.
"I assume that you're referring to your newly acquired companion?" Harry was shocked that Samgon knew that they had picked up one of the prisoners but Samgon gave him no chance to reply. Harry did manage to put his radio on loud speaker though before Samgon resumed speaking. "Harry, listen to me very carefully. Your new companion cannot be allowed to leave that base. He could screw up the whole timeline if he leaves that base."
"But he knows us..." Harry tried to protest but Samgon drowned out his protests.
"Correction, Harry; he will know our future selves. He doesn't know us as we are now. I do not know what will happen if he's still around in his own past and our future." Samgon told Harry. Harry heard the sound of continuing gun and artillery fire over the radio.
"What do you think will happen to him?" Harry asked after a moment of contemplation.
"At best, the two would have their memories of their encounter scrambled or wiped. At Worst... let's say catastrophic wouldn't be the word to use." Samgon left the potentially fatal consequences unsaid before saying some last words to Harry. "Look, my soldiers are moving in to destroy that facility; I will let you decide what to do with him." Upon finishing speaking, Samgon cut off the transmission and the radio went silent.
"Come on, we need to head back up. I want to see if our X-friend is able to speak to us." Harry said to Damian and Amanda.
"What good will that do us?" Amanda questioned him sceptically.
"He doesn't know, he just wants as much info as possible." Damian said before Harry could reply.
"I'm hoping that he'll know of another way out of here. We don't even know who he was before he became the partial monster they turned him into." Harry explained to his two companions. Harry then crawled and climbed through the various vent shafts, closely followed by Amanda and Damian.
A short time later, Harry and Amanda re-entered the laboratory containing X Zero six, entering through a vent shaft entry hatch and knocking out a pair of Greenskin scientists and the pair of guards guarding them and X Zero six. Damian entered the room afterwards and clung to the ceiling long enough to put the vent shaft cover back on the hatch before dropping to the floor. He was ready to defend himself and his new companions from attack. Harry and Amanda hid the unconscious bodies of the Scientists and guards in nearby lockers and cupboards and then they walked up to the barely alive X Zero six, who was still connected to the bundles of wires and tubes. Harry believed that X Zero six was capable of speaking and that his mind was still intact whilst Amanda believed that X Zero six was nothing more than a brain dead vegetable. Damian was unsure what to make of the mutated human other than the sight of X Zero six caused him to wince.
"Hello?" Harry asked X Zero six cautiously.
"Come on boss, this is a waste of time!" Amanda said to Harry worriedly, her eyes darting to the laboratory's doors.
"Hello, can you here me?" Harry asked X Zero six again rather insistently.
Aside from a great deal of laboured breathing, X Zero six appeared to be unresponsive to Harry's questioning. Harry glanced at Amanda, who looked at him like she was saying, 'I told you.' Before Harry entirely gave up, X Zero six began struggling to speak, "Ha...ha...ha...who...? Who arg...who are ya...who are you?"
"It's okay; we're here to help. My name is Harry, Harry Potter." Harry told the mutated man.
X Zero six seemed very interested in what he was just told, "Har...Harr'... Harry Potter? Which... which one?"
"The one who was the first to encounter Samgon, back during his rise to power... just after my sixth year at Hogwarts." Harry informed X Zero six. It was virtually common knowledge at this point that multiple universes had been merged into this one, especially with countless thousands of versions of Harry residing on this earth.
"I...I a'...I am a ruined man now. These...these wires and tubes are the only things that keep... keep me alive. I struggle to remember what my name is. I struggle t...to remember what I looked like." X Zero six said, struggling for breath and was beginning to wriggle.
"I don't think that you will like what you look like now." Damian said sarcastically before he could stop himself.
"I doubt th...that I am anything like a human anymore. Do...do I know you? You sound familiar?" X Zero six asked Damian.
"My name is Damian. Guess there's no point calling myself something else." Damian replied to the mutated man.
"Mas...mast. Master Damian? Is that you?" X Zero six asked with growing shock and emotion.
"Alfred? What have they done to you? What happened?" Damian asked in shock. As seconds and minutes ticked by and the sound of gunfire and explosions, Damian was looking very much like an emotional wreck, distraught at what happened to what he considered to be his honourary grandfather. Harry and Amanda observed that whatever events Damian and the now identified Alfred had gone through had finally taken their toll on them. "How did you end up here Alfred? I thought I was the only survivor from our time."
"I believe that...that the circumstances of how we arrived here arg...are different. I believe that your wife must've sent you back in time to save you although it could easily have been some magical interference from unknown parties. Meanwhile, I was brought here by agents of this...place and had been taken by surprise. I...I also got the impression that others who we may know were also brought here. While I've been hooked up to this torturous contraption, I've heard some of the scientists in here talk about a female prisoner referring to herself as Terra or Tara. The scientists could not agree on the pronunciation of the name and then I hear about how the Chief of Security t...took her to his personal quarters and broke her by making her overdose on whatever drugs they have around here. Guards would occasionally talk about the screaming or cackling laughter coming from there."
"Sir... did anyone mention anything about any potential entrances or exits?" Harry asked X Zero six/Alfred with a high degree of respect.
Alfred did not respond for a minute or two as he thought about Harry's question. He did eventually respond however, "I...I believe th...that there are a couple of one person wide service shafts th.. that run parallel to the main entrance, not that I know what the main entrance is exactly. If you can figure out where the main entrance is, the service shafts should be close by it. I am basing what I have told you on what I have heard."
"Okay, thank you." Harry and Amanda headed for one of the exits and, whilst Amanda ran out of the room, Harry noticed that Damian wasn't following. "Are you coming, Damian? We have to go now!" Harry asked Damian, uncertainty creeping into his voice.
"Go on, I'll be a minute." Damian said to Harry, who just remained standing there. "Go!" Harry nodded and finally followed Amanda out of the room. Damian turned to the mutated form of Alfred and stood by him. "Alfred, I won't leave you." Damian told him with no hint of uncertainty.
"Y...you sh... shouldn't stay h...here with me. I'll be gone soon." Alfred said, his breathing becoming increasingly laboured.
"I think that I'll be gone soon too, Alfred." Damian said to him.
"D...don't l...l... let it b...be in vain then." Alfred/X Zero six told him. "Go. Go!"
Damian left Alfred where he was and wiped away tears as he walked away from him. As he left the laboratory, Damian quietly and emotionally said, "Goodbye Alfred." He then departed from the laboratory.
Unbeknownst to Damian, because of what he was subjected to, Alfred had heard Damian and, almost like a whisper replied to him, "G...goodbye master Damian."
Further ahead, Harry had caught up with Amanda and both of them were now fighting their way through the facility's many, many guards and attempting to evade the pitched battles between the forces of Samgon and those of the Lead Scientist and the Chief of Security. At some points, Harry and Amanda helped Samgon's forces fend off brutal attacks by the Orc-made Xenomorphs before moving forward to the service shafts. After what seemed to be an entire day, but actually not more than a few hours, Harry and Amanda found the service shafts. Unfortunately for them, standing in their way was a small swarm of the Orc-made Xenomorphs, with more gathering. "Do you want to start shooting at these monsters, Amanda? Ladies first." Harry asked the young female WSF agent.
"Oh no, no Boss. After you." Amanda replied with a sense of optimistic humour. Harry nodded with a faint smile and then began firing explosive spells into the swarm of Xenomorphs. Amanda followed suit a split second later, firing a spray of bullets at the Orc-made Xenomorphs with her gun. The creatures screamed in pain and fury and those that weren't killed in Harry and Amanda's initial barrage of spell and gunfire made attempts to retreat or attack the two with all those attacking the pair being utterly wiped out and many of those who tried to retreat were quickly shot down. The surviving creatures quickly scurried into the nearby ventilation system and began shrieking to summon more of their brethren. The creatures heard their brethren clambering through the ventilation system at more than superhuman speed to help them catch their prey.
Harry and Amanda barely reached the service shafts when the Lead Scientist spoke to Harry via the facility's communications network. "You can't escape Potter! My beautiful creations are many in number and they will hunt you like beasts!" the Lead Scientist declared, almost arrogantly.
"You can't control them. What do you think will happen if they kill me? You won't be able to round them up and they will kill all of you for even trying." Harry replied to the increasingly out of touch Greenskin scientist.
"My things of beauty will not kill me for, in some ways, I am their father." the Lead Scientist said to Harry, pride showing in its voice.
"It only worked for that one person and he was an android in a movie. I think you watched too many science fiction movies because if you think they'll regard you as their father, you are a fool. And given that their biological original father is very likely to be hunted by them as well, it doesn't bode well for you." Harry said confidently.
"I do not fear them but you should Potter!" the Lead Scientist angrily replied to Harry.
"Sounds like you're compensating for something." Harry said with a slight chuckle before continuing to speak to the Lead Scientist. "I think that you and your Chief of Security are so inept militarily that you created these beasts to take out all enemies regardless of tactical skill." Harry heard the Chief of Security growl in the background at the implication that he was a military amateur. "Or it could just be that you subconsciously hate every living thing and those monsters are your version of a doomsday weapon. I think that no matter how you look at it, you and your little band of followers are nothing more than glorified losers and wash outs."
"Where are you Potter? I will break every bone in your body, myself!" the Lead Scientist replied furiously after a volcano of anger inside him erupted.
"Well I'm currently sat next to X Zero six. He is being a very good font of information." Harry said to the Lead Scientist, blatantly lying to him. He finished by saying, "I'll be waiting for you."
Amanda looked at him with a raised eyebrow, "Don't you think that he'll be checking to see that you really are there first?"
"I reckon that the Chief of Security would but that Lead Scientist, the big guy in charge, he has had his ego too damaged to make sure first. First we discovered his experiments and informed his previously unaware Emperor about them and, secondly, said Emperor rejected his experiments and ordered them to be destroyed... so yeah, a very damaged ego." Harry replied.
"Well, I don't think that he'll be our biggest problem at the moment anyway." Amanda said, beginning to sound more concerned.
"Why's that?" Harry asked.
"Because those things are surrounding us..." Amanda said, with Harry interrupting before she could finish.
"... And there's some right, fucking, behind us, isn't there?" Harry asked, sounding almost thoroughly annoyed. Amanda nodded very slowly and Harry could only curse under his breath, "Fuck me! Well we're dead!"
Suddenly, the Xenomorphs immediately behind Harry and Amanda screamed in pain before collapsing and falling down to the floor, melting the metal and concrete floor with copious amounts of their acid blood spilling out of their dead bodies. "You're not dead yet.
And you're both going to get the hell out of here." Damian said to them, having rejoined them by fighting through many of the same battles that Harry and Amanda had fought through to get to this point. The Xenomorphs that Damian killed were slain by his sword and his throwing weapons. Damian then handed over several clips of ammunition to Amanda and Harry, having retrieved them from multiple dead Greenskins. "I thought that these might come in handy to you two."
"They will, besides, I don't think that those scientists on the lower levels have even a remote semblance of control now. The infestation wants to run riot." Harry said gratefully as he renewed his spell casting as the Xenomorphs renewed their charge, seeking to destroy or consume their prey. He cast a spell that caused a grid-pattern wall of light to appear for a few moments that diced up any creatures crossing the wall of light. Like a horde of rabid animals, the Xenomorphs ignored their losses and continued to charge Harry, Amanda and Damian, gradually gaining ground on them. Amanda fired wildly as the Xenomorphs clambered all over the corridor and Damian just kept throwing and retrieving his throwing weapons at them whilst stabbing and slicing any who got within reaching distance of him. Even with the somewhat deafening noise of gunfire and monstrous, pain-filled screams filling the corridor, Harry became curious as to how Damian's weapons were unaffected by the acid blood of the creatures, "Hey Damian, how come your weapons still aren't useless yet?"
"You and Samgon put enchantments on them about a week or two after I first met you guys. That is, you do it in my past." Damian explained to Harry, who didn't look surprised at the answer.
"That would explain it. Anyway, keep fighting." Harry told them. He continued to blast away at the Xenomorphs although he and Amanda gradually grew more tired and their ammunition, even with the top-up from Damian, started running low and Harry found his aim with his wand starting to err, missing his targets with gradually increasing frequency.
Damian noticed the increasingly dire situation for both him and his comrades and knew that a decision had to be made right there and then. "Harry, Amanda...Go! I'll hold them off as best as I can!" Damian shouted to Harry and Amanda as he felled several Xenomorphs with a single swipe of his sword.
"Don't be ridiculous, we're leaving together!" Harry argued forcefully in reply. Damian interrupted before Harry could speak any further.
"Look someone's got to stay behind or everything you two and I have done today will have been for nothing. Besides, there are people waiting for you two outside. My instincts are telling me that I'll be sharing the fate of everyone else in here."
Harry could say nothing about that and knew that Damian's mind was set. He turned to Amanda and called to her, "Amanda, climb up one of the shafts; We need to go!"
"What about Damian? He's coming with us, right?" Amanda asked.
"He's covering our escape so that we can survive." Harry replied. Amanda looked worriedly at Damian but followed Harry's order and began climbing the service shaft, closely followed by Harry. Damian blocked the service shaft entrance and faced down the ever growing swarm of Xenomorphs, gathering like a pack of lions all targeting the same prey.
X Zero six Laboratory
The Lead Scientist, the Chief of Security, several Greenskin scientists and the large contingent of guards accompanying them entered the laboratory containing X Zero six and immediately scanned the room for any signs of Harry's presence. Aside from finding the two unconscious scientists and their two guards in the lockers and cupboards in the room, there was no sign of Harry. Of course, the Lead Scientist remained convinced that Harry was still in the room and refused to accept all the evidence telling them otherwise, "Your equipment is faulty, he is here, I know it!" The Lead Scientist began to look increasingly deranged as the situation descended into complete and total chaos and his voice fluctuated in tone between arrogance, despair and self-destructive confidence. The Chief of Security quietly began to investigate the immediate area outside the laboratory, having realised that the Lead Scientist's sanity had become rather frayed and didn't wish to be around him any longer than he needed to. The Lead Scientist walked up to X Zero six and began to monologue to the mutated man. "You have been a very important prize for us. You have managed to endure our experiments and become the first of a new species. You are a thing of beauty and those that have come after you are more so. I suppose you could call me father when all is said and done... or you can call me god."
Alfred/X Zero six stirred, which the Lead Scientist misinterpreted to mean that he was eager to see him. Once Alfred was fully alert, he roared in anger and ripped off the left arm of the Lead Scientist before flinging him across the large room. He then clumsily took a belt equipped with a variety of grenades off a guard coming to restrain him and caved his head in, destroying the guard's face and killing him instantly. X Zero six then addressed the Lead Scientist and his guards and scientists, regarding them all disdainfully, "Y...you turned me and m...many others into monsters and yet you are t... the true monsters. You sh... should've left us all in our own t...timelines to die a...and now we will be your d...de... destruction." Upon finishing speaking, Alfred/X Zero six one-handedly tore the head off a panicking scientist and punched right through the chest of another guard who failed to move out of the way.
"Don't do this, I beg of you, I made you a better species. Have mercy!" The Lead Scientist begged, even as his green blood poured freely out of his torn out left arm.
"You don't deserve mercy. Y..you are a true monster. Everything that has happened to you today, you have earned." Alfred said with a righteous fury. He clumsily then removed the pins from the grenades, dropping one of the grenades by his feet as he did so. He then threw the belt with the rest of the grenades at the Lead Scientist, who struggled to get a grip on it, "Beware the fire, it burns." The Lead Scientist's eyes widened in alarm as he sensed the grenades beginning to explode. Both he and Alfred/X Zero six were consumed by fire and riddled with shrapnel as the grenades exploded. The other scientists and guards were either killed or seriously wounded in the ensuing blast.
The Chief of Security rushed back to the laboratory with some guards, having overheard the commotion in the laboratory. He witnessed the aftermath of the blast and there were a few groaning noises as it became clear that there were a few survivors from the commotion. "I'm guessing that I'm in charge now." The Chief of Security remarked aloud. He saw the charred and ruined corpse of the Lead Scientist and the wrecked corpse of X Zero six and shook his head. "Boyz, see who here has survived and prepare to evacuate." There was no response or movement from behind him. "Boyz? Boyz?" The Chief of Security turned around to see that his guards had been slain and a Xenomorph towering over him. A moment later, the Chief of Security found a spiked tail stabbing him in the gut and emerging from his lower back, "Now, I guess I will not be in charge then." The Xenomorph leapt into the laboratory and was soon followed by two more of its brethren and the trio of creatures quickly slaughtered the wounded and dazed survivors. Blood was splattered over the laboratory's walls, desks cupboards and lockers and bodies were ripped to shreds.
All over the facility, the remaining followers of the Lead Scientist and the Chief of Security found themselves preyed upon by their own, somewhat animalistic creations and executed by the soldiers of Samgon. They could only continue to fight, knowing that their fates were sealed and mercy would not be given.
Facility Main Entrance
Back at the main entrance, outside the entry hatch to the service shaft that Harry and Amanda were climbing up, Damian fought off wave after wave of Xenomorphs. He couldn't think of them as having been his progeny, even if they had remained human, as the vast majority of the Xenomorphs had been created from his clones and other spawn birthed from the crazed, drugged, tortured women. He was also aware that the rest of the Xenomorphs were created by a great proportion of the other prisoners but any semblance of their humanity had been lost and he couldn't allow sympathy for what had happened to them to stop him from killing them. His training and well developed reflexes allowed him to fend off the Xenomorph horde but he knew that it was only a matter of before he was either overrun or bypassed. Indeed, individual Xenomorphs had begun to slip past Damian and attempted to catch Harry and Amanda in the shaft, only for Harry to take them down in a variety of gruesome ways.
"How far up are you, Harry?" Damian called to the experienced wizard.
"We're almost halfway up Damian. We're going as fast as we can!" Harry replied.
"Try and move faster; I don't know how much longer I can delay them for." Damian called up. Indeed, almost as soon as he finished speaking, he received a stab wound from a Xenomorph's tail and he grimaced in pain. He did his best to continue fighting through the wound but it soon became obvious to both Damian and the Xenomorphs that his ability to fight them off was compromised as a result. Damian remembered his final battle before he last saw his beloved and was sent tumbling through the portal that resulted in him ending up in that facility. Before he could remember anything else, he was more or less bulldozed to the floor by a larger version of the Xenomorph creatures and was soon pinned by the legs by opportunistic Xenomorphs. Recognizing their opportunity, the monsters not going after Damian began to queue for the chance to kill Harry and Amanda with not all the creatures able to fit in the service shaft at once.
Damian quickly retrieved a handful of grenades from his belt, having retrieved them from the fallen bodies of the facility's guards, and pulled the pins from them. He threw a few towards the service shaft entrance and kept one on his chest and gave the towering creatures a glare before smirking slightly. "I'll be seeing you soon Raven... in the next life. As for you creatures... I'm not exactly sure I'll be seeing you in the next life." He said calmly and dryly. The Xenomorphs pinning him down, realised that something was wrong as they were confused by what was happening. The grenades detonated a moment later and Damian died, just over two dozen Xenomorphs being killed with him. Poking out of Damian's now partially destroyed belt, a raven feather emerged from a ruined pouch.
Harry and Amanda continued to climb the shaft, fending off increasing number of Xenomorphs, when the explosion occurred. "Boss, what happened? Is Damian okay?" Amanda asked with a growing sense of panic.
"Don't worry about that, just climb the ladder. We're still a little way from the top." Harry replied to the alarmed Amanda.
Amanda and Harry continued to climb the shaft up to the surface but, after a couple of minutes, the Xenomorphs resumed their pursuit of Harry and Amanda with the creatures displaying increased levels of aggression. "Harry, they're coming after us again!" Amanda said loudly to Harry as she began shooting one handed at the Xenomorphs effortlessly climbing up the walls of the shaft.
"Don't stop moving Amanda, keep going! Never stop moving!" Harry replied, firing several explosive spells at the Xenomorphs. Harry and Amanda continued to climb up the shaft firing bullets and spells at the oncoming horde of Xenomorphs. The Xenomorphs that were shot dead screamed like they were hot pieces of metal being rapidly cooled. Those that were waiting at the bottom of the shaft hissed angrily as they saw the mounting bodies of their brethren and were becoming increasingly riled up.
As they continued to climb up to the top of the shaft, Harry and Amanda found themselves beginning to tire and waste bullets as the vast horde of Xenomorphs became increasingly aggressive and much faster than they had been before. When Harry and Amanda began to feel the fresh air, the Xenomorphs finally began to reach the pair. Amanda was safely out of the monsters' reach but Harry was not so lucky. A lucky swing by a Xenomorph tail caused a deep gash in Harry's right leg causing Harry to scream in pain. A few moments later, another Xenomorph stabbed Harry's left shoulder and forced Harry to slip from the shaft's ladder. "Harry, Boss!" Amanda called out in horror.
"I'm okay. Just keep going. I'll be right behind you." Harry called back. Harry had managed to regain his grip on the ladder during the fall and proceeded to furiously cast a number of explosive and fiery spells at the marauding Xenomorphs. Amanda eventually reached the end of the service shaft and got to the surface. Harry slowly and painfully continued to climb up the service shaft ladder as Xenomorphs continued to harass him, occasionally landing light cut or stab wounds. Eventually though, Harry got to the surface, bloodied but alive. "Thank God, Merlin, whoever's listening but thank you."
Harry collapsed briefly as a result of his injuries. Behind him, Xenomorphs began attempting to emerge from the service shaft exit. "Oh shit!" Harry said in horror. Alarmed, Harry began crawling away from the service shaft as he heard the creatures working their way out of their prison. Before the Xenomorphs could fully emerge, the Xenomorphs behind Harry were shot at and they began bleeding green, acid blood. Harry was surprised by the gunfire and looked ahead of him to see squads of Outer Heaven soldiers. Behind them, Amanda was shaking and speaking with a Orc wearing a black jacket and trousers with crimson red pockets. Upon seeing Harry, Amanda pointed him out to the Commander, who immediately rushed to Harry's side along with a few of his trusted soldiers and a medic.
"You must've had quite a day, Harry Potter, haven't you?" the Commander asked him.
"Yeah." Harry then tried his best to wipe the blood and dirt from his face before speaking again, "Yeah, it has been a very long and trying day." At the service shaft exit, Outer Heaven soldiers poured high volumes of fire into the shaft and riddled the Xenomorphs with bullets. Another pair of soldiers armed with flame throwers then approached the service shaft exit and shot at the Xenomorphs with as much burning fire as the fuel tanks could provide. "You'll make sure everything here is destroyed, won't you?" Harry asked the Commander as smoke emerged from the service shaft exit.
"Of course. Even our Emperor recognises the threat those beasts pose if any shred of their existence is allowed to remain. The only information of the experiments' details are with him, and he will put it in a highly secure vault where he only puts the most dangerous weapons in." The Commander reassured him. "This facility will be demolished and rebuilt with more sane personnel in charge."
"I suppose that you'll be sending me and Amanda off while you destroy this place, correct?" Harry asked the Commander.
"Yes, I will. My trusted boyz and the medic currently treating you will escort you to the nearest super deep port where the Outer Haven which will take you to your WSF headquarters after picking up the Emperor." the Commander explained to Harry.
"I suppose that Samgon wishes to discuss this... incident with me personally." Harry asked the Commander, already knowing the answer.
The Commander nodded in confirmation. "As much as I would like to talk with you, the Outer Haven is on a time limit and you will need to go now." Harry nodded in acceptance and gave the Commander a handshake before he was carried to a nearby truck with Amanda by his side. He and Amanda watched the smoke rising above the burning facility, the smoke becoming blacker by the minute.
A Week and a half later, Outer Haven (Samgon's personal flagship), Outside Recreational Area
"How's the crew been treating you two?" A bruised and battered Samgon asked a barely held together Harry and a shaken Amanda.
"With suspicion, I think, but otherwise, we've been treated well." Amanda replied.
"I certainly can't complain about the medical treatment given to me." Harry remarked positively.
Samgon looked deep in thought, "I'm grateful for your actions back at the renegade facility but I have to ask you something. How did you find out about that place in the first place?"
"Allied intelligence was provided with a vague set of coordinates and some even vaguer words. We've not figured out who sent them or why." Harry admitted reluctantly.
Samgon appeared to get older in the space of a matter of seconds. On the railing closest to Samgon and in view of Harry and Amanda, a couple of birds landed. On closer inspection, Harry saw the birds were a Robin and a Raven. "That's a curious sight." Amanda remarked.
"Indeed it is." Samgon replied in agreement. Without looking at Harry, Samgon asked him a question, "Do you think that you'll be seeing that young man again?"
"I think that I will and you'll meet him for the first time, why do you ask?" Harry asked Samgon, unable to contain his curiosity.
"I don't know why, but I think that the time to meet him is coming sooner rather than later." Samgon said.
"Time and fate can be really annoying, can't they?" Harry remarked half jokingly. "I was thinking of taking a holiday to Kislev at some point as I hear the cross-country skiing scene is good out there."
A/N- Please review and I hope you have enjoyed this story. I originally had planned to get this out in late August but let's just say that circumstances and my own imagination disagreed with my plans for this story. This story is set between Lords of War and Warhammer/Harry Potter: Dark Knights, set a few decades before the start of the latter story. This story does also provide hints as to what the plan is for the Warhammer/Harry Potter: Dark Knights story arc as it progresses. Having said that, it can be read primarily as a stand alone story for the most part. If this One shot is popular enough, I might consider making an extended, multi-chapter version of this story.
Once again, I hope you have enjoyed this story and please review it.
