Chapter 1: Prika and Baby Luma's 1st Field Trip
At Shroomerton School, Blue Toad is handing out field trip notices and permission slips to his class.
"Remember, everyone. Tomorrow, we'll be going on a field trip to Yoshi Island. The best place to learn more for studies on nature," he said.
Prika and Baby Luma turned to The Super Detective Siblings for Prika to say, "What's a field trip, my friends?"
"Mama told me that field trips are special events for students to go out for school study purposes," said Baby Luma.
"You never been on a field trip before?" said Tallulah.
"A field trip is a trip made by students or research workers to study something firsthand," said Garth.
"You get to bring your lunch and take pictures of the event, too," said Kennedy.
"Wow…Do we always have field trips?" said Baby Luma.
"Only on occasions, but they're always filled with excitement," said Brandon.
"Besides the point of being there to learn, it's still fun," said Bruce.
"There's been many legends and stories going on Yoshi Island," said Lyla.
"Hey, isn't Yoshi Island where Yoshi and Birdo live? Maybe we'll run into them over there," said Prika.
"Ugh, I don't want to go on this dumb field trip," said Stephanie, sitting afar from Prika and Baby Luma's desk.
She and Bryan's desks are surrounded by "the Fun Killers."
"Why do we even have to go?" Bryan complained.
"Besides, Yoshi Island has filled creatures that descendants from the uncivilized Prehistoric ages with tacky cloth wear," said Paula.
"I would rather be sick in bed than go over," said Mark.
"Let's some moldy bread for us to get sick," said Cora.
"Yeah, it's the only way we can get out of this field trip," said Saul.
"And I'm sure Mr. B won't notice," said Sally.
"And if that doesn't work, we'll get our parents to take care of everything," said Barney.
"Do the Fun Killers always try to get out on field trips?" Baby Luma asks.
"Yeah, since the beginning," the Super Detective Siblings respond.
"Papa texted me to meet him at Mama Peach's castle after school. I wonder why?" said Prika.
At Peach's Castle, an explosion is heard. Then Mario gets onto the castle's balcony with Peach in his arms. And Luigi joined in but landed on his face.
"This isn't over, Mario! This isn't over! Oh, tell Prika I said hi," Bowser's voice heard from outside.
"Judging how Bowser's attack was sudden, it means he's out from his vacation," said Luigi, standing on his feet.
As Mario puts Peach down, he says, "It would appear so. Luckily, he says he will attack twice a week, randomize."
"At least he's allowing you to spend some time with everyone you love," said Peach, holding Mario's arm.
The pair blushed until Prika showed up and said, holding her notice and permission, "Papa! Unkey Luigi! I'm here."
"Prika! Hi, baby!" said Mario, running over to Prika, making Peach feel slightly annoyed and puffing up her face.
When Mario held Prika to hug her, Luigi teased Peach, "Oh, is someone jelly over the little star?"
"What?! Me?! I can't be jealous. Mario is a father now. How can I be jealous of his daughter, who treats me as her mother?" Peach shocked.
"Hehehe. It was bound to happen. Who knows who Mario will pick over?"
Peach is about slap Luigi, but Daisy comes crashing through the roof and lands on top of him.
"Hi, Luigikins," said Daisy before kissing his nose.
"Daisy, nice of you to drop in and ruin my roof again," Peach continued as Daisy got off of Luigi. "Do you have to use a cannon to be able to come over?"
"And do you have to let Bowser kidnap you all the time?"
"Fair point."
"Hey, Luigikins. Where's my hug?"
But she turned Pepperoni licking Luigi's face as he chuckled. Daisy went from happy to emotionless and disappointed.
"I never thought I would be jealous of Luigi's pet Polterpuppy. Starting to get jealous of Prika?" said Daisy.
"Uh…well…," said Peach.
"Papa and everyone. Blue Toad gave me this to show you," said Prika, handing Mario the notice and permission slip.
When Luigi came over to them, Mario said, "A field trip to Yoshi's Island? Oh, this will be your first field trip, Prika."
"What is Yoshi Island like?" Prika asks.
"All kinds of fun and learning opportunities," Luigi continued. "You and Papa used to visit there when we're wee things like yourself, but younger."
"Will I be able to meet Yoshi and Birdo during it?"
"Who knows? They may surprise you."
When Cauliflower appears, she pounces on Pepperoni and licks his face. But then Mario gets a phone call and answers it.
He becomes shocked while saying, "Really? I see…Okay then."
After ending the call, he said, "Prika, why don't you, Pepperoni and Cauliflower, go play in the gardens?"
"Yes, Papa. Come on, Doggy and Kitty," said Prika.
As Prika, Pepperoni, and Cauliflower left, Mario said, "That was Yoshi calling. He said some of his people at Yoshi Island are going missing. So, they are enlisting the Super Mario Bros. to investigate."
"Eh? But isn't Prika going over there for the field trip tomorrow? Should we get them to cancel it for their safety?" said Daisy.
"But then the kids and their parents will get suspicious. Besides, the Toad Twins will keep the children safe," said Luigi.
"I heard Captain Toad and his Brigade will be going to Yoshi Island for a dig," said Peach.
"Maybe they might help out with the citizens' disappearances."
"Alright then. That's the last thing I need to worry about. But let's hope Prika and her friends get involved. You know how determined she is when going on adventures and helping out," said Mario.
At Rosalina's house, Rosalina read the field trip notice and permission slip and said, "Absolutely not! Sending a child of mine on their own is out of the question for an education."
"But Mama, Prika will be going, and so will the rest of our friends too," said Baby Luma.
"Okay. But I want Lubba to chaperone."
"Ey? Why not you?" Lubba asks.
"Work makes me want to research falling space debris that landed on Yoshi Island. So, I have to take that request."
"But that's where the field trip will take place," said Baby Luma.
"Hmm…Perhaps we will meet up around lunch."
"Okay. I better finish my homework now."
"Alright then. It better be done before dinner starts."
At Yoshi Island, giant footsteps can be heard in the darkness. The shadow has glowing red eyes before roaring to the moon.
