Epel was tired of hearing Vil's constant stabs at how different he acted compared to everyone (including Vil himself) else at Pomefiore, and he had enough.
He knew someone that wouldn't judge him because he had a thick Harveston accent or a horrible way of eating at fancy dinners. (Like drinking out of the bowl you are supposed to wash your hands in, not drink out of, for starters.)
Well, almost wouldn't.
As you see, Idia, the someone, wasn't really interested in anything but anime and video-games.
Idia was constantly trying to figure out ways to not go to class in-person, or avoiding social gatherings, or just avoiding people that weren't over voice-chat or video calls in-general.
But these two had ended up making somewhat of a friendship when Epel looked for help with a blastcycle for a play that Vil insisted he take a part in. Ever since then, Idia and Epel had seemed a little closer than before. Barely, it was of an Alice-size change, but it sure was a difference.
"Hey, open up. It's Epel!" Epel knocked on the door.
The sounds of, what sounded like a sci-fi anime, paused and Idia grumbled as he got out of his beanbag chair and put down his headphones and his game controller.
Idia opened the door, his blue fire flickering and wavering on his head, dark bags underneath his eyes (paired with his signature blue eyeliner), a slightly hunched-over posture from playing video games in weird posistions all the time, potato chip crumbs all over his hoodie and an unamused look on his face. "Yeah, what? I was watching the anime they made for Star Rogue." He yawned.
"Why are you here, Epel?" He added, rubbing his eyes with his free hand, as the other one was helping him lean against the open door, (and his shoulder leaning on the doorway.) "To get away from Vil." Epel glared and crossed his arms.
He hated Vil sometimes... His snobby behavior made Rook tolerable.
"...Makes sense. Yo, wanna watch Star Rogue with me or nah. I'll explain the plot to you so far if you get lost." Idia stopped leaning on the door frame and asked. "Sure, sounds...interestin'I guess?" Epel walked inside, following Idia.
Idia sat on his beanbag chair and Epel sat in the other one next, Ortho on the other side of him. "Hi!" Ortho waved. "Hey, Ortho." Epel smiled at him and waved back. Idia grabbed his controller, his headphones, an extra cable from a box that he had to lean over an extreme amount to reach and he gave Epel another set of headphones that Ortho wasn't using because he kind of already had headphones in form of his own ears. Idia plugged both headphones together.
"There. Now you can listen too." Idia informed him and proceeded to unpause his TV show, which was called Star Rogue: The Anime Series. Epel watched as sci-fi characters blasted each other with ray-guns and a lot of zapping stuff happened, he didn't really get it, but Idia seemed to enjoy it.
"You see that guy right there, man he's had it rough. He used to be a good guy and then he turned evil after meeting some space lord that kept convincing him that his friends were actually enemies. And that girl, used to be his girlfriend, and is having to fight against him. Pretty serious, emotional stuff." Idia said, pointing at the screen at the different characters.
"Oh, wow... Yeah, sounds rough." Epel just nodded and raised a brow.
...He had no idea what Idia was talking about, yet it was better than Vil.
