And got another little one-shot idea. This one takes place after 'Love and Thunder', and the less we speak of that film, the better.
Thor stood solemnly, staring at the grave in front of him with a passive look.
Dr. Jane Foster.
Beloved Friend. Astrophysicist. Hero.
June 9, 1989-March 30, 2024.
He was struggling right now, to not break down sobbing. Another person he loved, lost to a cruel Universe that had already taken Frigga, Odin, Fandrall, Volstagg, Hogun, his brother Loki, half of his people, Vision, Tony and Natasha.
There was a memorial for her in Asgard, but this little gravestone set up by himself, Selvig and Darcy held much more value for him. Because they knew Jane, the real Jane, and not just the hero who wielded Mjolnir.
He sensed someone walking up next to him, and knew who it was.
"I'm sorry", Peter Quill said to Thor, his voice having nothing but empathy in it.
"Thank you for coming", Thor said to Quill, grateful to him for trying to be there for him. Because for all of their bickering and fighting, Thor knew Quill was his friend and ally, and would always come for him.
Thor would do the same as well.
"I know how you feel", Quill told Thor, looking ahead. "My mom died of cancer too."
"I'm sorry to hear that", Thor said, his voice heavy and grim.
"I was lost for a long time after that, only after meeting my other teammates did I really learn to live with it", Quill had to tell Thor. "But remember, you have people who care about you. So…..you don't have to be alone."
Thor nodded, a tear rolling down his cheek and dropping in front of the gravestone.
"I know", he told Quill, who put a hand on his shoulder for comfort.
Both of them stood there, unmoving, as Thor grieved, and Quill supported him.
And Thor was grateful to him for it.
Jane's date of birth and death are my creation because I couldn't find anything official.
Not my best work, but hope it was decent.
Hope all enjoyed and see you all next time with another chapter.
