I'm an adventuring hunter aspiring to level-up through combat so I can be a high tier scribe for the greater good of the Alliance. Today I met so many great people while adventuring. I met a Mage I bartered the fish I caught with for conjured mana buns. I saw a Warlock summoning combative demons to fight by his side. I witnessed the Rogues of the opposing faction being forced to mutilate in faction verse faction combat. I even saw healers being force to stop focusing on killing and to prioritize on keeping the parties health up in battle.
While the adventures in this world are perilous ones I find it nice to be a part of something meaningful. One of the more interesting things I saw in my days thus far is the abbots babbling with a Priest that the Warriors are not to be healed in the manner of others that might be tanking a fight alongside them. Warriors are a special case and lack much understanding of magic compared to Paladin or Druid tank. So the priest should be focused first on helping the Warrior not lose health.
I was out wandering the forest today when I happened across an archeologist surveying the land and digging the the dirt for treasures. The archeologist said, "I love to dig it is my way of getting in touch with myself and my deepest thoughts." I replied, "how does one become an archeologist?" The answer was that once I was a high enough level I could ask a trainer to teach me how. I like to dream of the day I am a scribe for the powerful defenders of the Alliance so the research that comes with archeology is also very interesting to me. If to dig is as freeing as I was told isn't what I'm interested in I want to learn and grow in knowledge so I can be a historian on my people, events, and changes that take place in the land I am exploring.
I met a blacksmith after I reentered town. He told of coal, metals, and of his hammer he used to fit armor for himself and his comrades. As a hunter I had no real use for the attire he crafted. But I offered him a deal I'd inscribe a glyph for him if he traded me some of the copper ore he talked to me about. He responded a bit enthusiastically with a, "yes." I crafted inscription and he gave me the copper ore with a, "thank you." I had no real use for the ore itself but I didn't know what else to say when I was trembling inside about carrying my weight tending to the war machine at large. As grateful as the blacksmith seemed to be I didn't think about much else other than rushing off to my next hunt for an empowering meal I had my choice between wolf meat and spider meat given the forest I am in and my abilities in cooking.
As a hunter I get to subdue come creatures and make them my combat pet. So instead of hunting for lunch I changed my mind to think about what type of pet I wanted at my side. After much thought and glancing at the options I had in the forest I decided I'd like a bug pet and caught a spider to keep as my combat pet. My spider can spit a web at my enemies in combat to snare them which immobilizes them while I shoot at them from a ranged location. My spider is my ally and my friend so I keep him fed, healed, and take good care of him so he protects me in the heat of battle. Keeping a bug as a pet is a bit gnarly to me I like him because he will psych out my opponents being even I find him gross. I killed a lot of spiders and collected their parts to sell to a vendor or to cook once I could.
I was in a capital city today and went fishing in the fountain, of all the places I could have cast my line. I was there just plunking down line after line into the fountain and reeled up a coin. A few casts later I reeled in another coin so I decided to keep a collection of coins at the bank. The coins have sometime witty statements written on them and I like to read them over and over every time I visit the bank. Due to finding coins fishing got so exciting that I almost lost track of my dreams to be great scribe in the lands. I thought it over and decided to again seek adventure so could gain power through combat.
As I was leaving the city I saw a trainer of battle pets which I can learn to control. I noticed I could gain power by controlling this pet during their battles and thought I'd prefer that over pitting myself in combat. This kind of rise to power it much more suitable to my nature as a crafting scribe. As much as I want to do my part for the Alliance I am timid in the field of combat and I'm not after the glory, honor, or valor gained in the midst of battle. So, as I plan to spend my days rising to power controlling the battle pets I digress into where my place in the wars actually is. I find that I am a loner and in need of some companionship. Guilds are one of the things I had considered but many are quite demanding. So, I hoofed it to the Lion's Pride Inn and stood outside waiting for people to happen by while I wave at them and say, "hello," to get my confidence up for the day I stand in a trade city advertising my wares.
I heard rumors of how the Undead partook of forcing their young to cannibalize. They trained them that way so they could become better at eating in the heat of combat. I simply find it curious to know of the other races in ritual and in ability. I plan to investigate this much deeper but prying into information on the races. Other than that, I don't really know too much about anyone here in the land I chose to adventure in. But I do plan to explore the stories as I progress on my quest pursuing my dreams as a scribe.
