Evangelion S2 Episode 25 'Separate Ways: One's Betrayal'
On a bright summer day a black sedan is cruising along a highway in Tokyo-2, riding in the back is a high ranking executive of Wille along with his assistant. Wille is a direct competitor to Nerv.
"Have you located the girl?" Asked Doctor Sakai.
"Yes sir, the drone we sent showed that she's made her way into an abandoned home over in Tokyo-1. Fortunately the house is located in an area that isn't already submerged from the nuclear strike." Rena replied.
"Good, so it's not too late..." Said the Doctor.
"Not presently, but based on the footage she appeared to be very famished. I would have to say she hasn't eaten anything in a few days, perhaps a week even." Said Rena.
"Then we must act swift and accordingly." Doctor Sakai said with a slightly concerned expression.
"I already have personnel headed to her location, sir." Rena replied.
Sakai nods and Rena moves towards the driver to show him the address of the abandoned home.
"Benson, please take us to this address over in Tokyo-1 and step on it." Asked Rena.
"Yes ma'am." Benson Replied.
With Asuka's depression going off the deep end, she loses all hope and runs away to a partially destroyed home in Tokyo-1. With thoughts of suicide she makes her way to the upstairs bathroom. Asuka who has become quite famished, having not bathed or eaten in a week strips off her clothes, neatly folds and places them on a chair next to the bathtub with murky water in it. She gets in the tub and reflects on all that has happened to her over the past few weeks.
"Kaji dead... sync ratio zero... can't be the second child anymore...no reason left to live..." She concludes.
"Nobody cares about me anymore, my father, my mother... nobody cares... not even that stupid Shin..." All of a sudden movement can be heard throughout the house. A tall black suited man along with a woman wearing glasses appear at the bathroom door.
"Are you Asuka Langley Soryu?" Rena Asks.
Asuka being somewhat dazed slightly tilts her head towards the doorway, "Who cares...?" she whispered.
The two step into the bathroom and are somewhat surprised to see Asuka in her current condition.
"We do, my name is Doctor Tomoharu Sakai of Wille and this is my assistant Rena Hanashi. We've been watching you for a while now, Asuka. We find it quite upsetting that our competitors at NERV have let you decline to such a state." Sakai says.
Rena continues, "Hello Asuka, we are well aware of how your sync ratio with your Eva collapsed and would like to make you an offer..."
"What? What could you possibly do for me now...?" Asuka replied.
Sakai takes a chair and places it on the bathroom floor backwards and sits down on it. "Well for starters we know how prideful you can be and it's very much obvious to me... that this pride of yours is shot. What if I told you we can offer a restoration of your pride by making you the pilot of one of our experimental units." Sakai offered.
Asuka surprised by this remark shoots the doctor a quick glance, "What are you on about...? I thought Nerv only manufactured the Evas." She said weakly.
"...Oh I'm not talking about the Evangelions, but something better..." The Doctor replied.
The Doctor continued, "Now I can't get into specifics with you here, but we are going to create a whole new world, a world more suited for everyone and everything in it and we want you to be a part of it as our new pilot, so what do you say?"
"Asuka, we'll treat you right every step of the way and consider all your needs. Our units wouldn't require any kind of synchronization." Rena said with a smile as more Wille personnel gather at the doorway.
Asuka begins to reflect on their advances, however Sakai becomes a bit impatient.
"Not interested? No problem, we'll just let you wither away then..." Scoffed the Doctor as he and Rena walks towards the doorway.
Asuka moved by her inner depression and rage against Shinji, Misato and Nerv who have seemingly abandoned her as well as figuring she has nothing left to lose accepts the offer.
"No wait, I'll do it..." She submitted.
Doctor Sakai smirks, "Very well! Take her, get her clothed and transferred to HQ to begin the rehabilitation process."
"This is when we finally get to settle the score Ikari!" Sakai thought to himself.
Sakai and Rena leave the room while Wille's personnel head over to the bathtub to retrieve Asuka and prepare her for a new start at Wille. In the process she places a vendetta on all of Nerv with hopes to get even with them.
