Zelda fumbled with the scissors as she sat in front of the mirror, hesitantly moving her hair into place.

She and Link had stopped at The Great Ton Pu Inn in Hateno Village for the night, and out of the blue, the princess had suddenly expressed the desire to cut her hair the moment they had settled into their room.

Link watched from where he sat on the bed as Zelda groaned and let her hands fall, staring dejectedly down at her lap.

"It's no use. I… I don't know if I can do this."

Link popped his knee as he spoke. "Hey, I know it's hard saying goodbye to such lovely locks of hair, but…"

He stopped as Zelda shook her head. "That's not why I'm so hesitant to do this… It's just that… well, I've never cut my own hair before. I'm afraid I'm going to mess it all up."

She raised the scissors again and held out a strand of hair to cut it, but the Hero of the Wild could see that her hands were shaking.

He stood up and walked over to her, standing behind her and reaching out his hand. "What if I try?"

Zelda gasped softly and blushed a little as she slowly let go of her hair.

Link carefully took the scissors from her and adjusted her hair a little, before holding up the blades. "You want it this high?"

"Y-yes."

He held out the scissors and moved it into place, prepared to cut her hair. "...Ready?" he asked softly.

Zelda hesitated once more, then sighed. "I'm ready."

The scissors snipped, and several long strands of golden locks drifted to the ground.

Link was careful as he worked, making sure that everything was in its place before cutting off more hair. Zelda shivered for a moment as she felt his breath on her neck and tried not to blush even further.

Finally, Link trimmed her shortened hair a little to finish shaping it, and he stepped back when he was done, placing the scissors back onto the desk.

"You like it…?" he asked, rather nervously.

Zelda breathed out as she ran her fingers through her now chin-length golden hair, admiring how much fluffier it seemed than before. "I… I love it. Thank you, Link."

The two turned to look at each other for a moment, then Link got down and gently wrapped his arms around Zelda's shoulders, and the pair lovingly rested their foreheads against each other.
