"It just sounds good." Yona argued, arms crossed over her chest and lips pulled down into a pout. Sometimes she was just too cute.

"We had a shopping list." Hak retorted, despite the fact that his reply didn't really have any bite to it, just matter of fact.

"We can afford it, right?" And when Yona stops like this, Hak pauses. She's always been a princess with more wealth at her disposal than anything and no place to spend it, and here they are years after all that wealth is gone, and while she's definitely grown up, her desire to see the world and explore it is still as strong as ever.

"Yes." Hak replied, voice going soft around the edges, "But just that, okay?"

"Okay." And Yona looks at the cart as if seeing it for the first time, and Hak just smiles back at her. It's been so many years, and that hopeful optimism still just pours out of her.

In her relaxed moments where her strength isn't on full display, Hak sees a hint more of the girl he'd grown up with and had first fallen for. Though the years had only made him fall for her more.

Especially since she'd grown over them as well; people aren't just stagnant, and Hak doesn't know what to think about how every change in her as given him something new to love about her. These years are infinitely precious, even though the challenges of them, he hadn't ever wished she'd go through.
