"I wish you'd have told me sooner, Beano."
Sweat prickled the back of Saffron's neck, and she swallowed thickly before rolling away from Merida. Forcibly denying herself comfort.
"Sorry. Thought I could get through the withdrawal…on my own."
Merida hummed softly, then scratched her fingertips along the back of Saffron's neck. She then leaned in and placed a soft kiss there.
"You ain't never on your own. Even if I don't get all the bipolar stuff you gotta deal with."
At that, Saffron cleared her throat and chuckled self consciously. She slid a hand over top of Merida's, then shivered as Merida allowed her to guide both hands to her lips.
"You get way more than you realize, Meri."
After a few more shivers, Saffron rolled back over…and wilted upon finding Merida waiting with open arms.
"I'll go see my doc about getting new meds after lunch. Thanks for…bugging me about it."
Merida didn't say a word, merely settling for encircling her arms around her beleaguered girlfriend's shoulders, and drawing her in for a warm cuddle.
